OK, Beaver, you the man frame 1. Any thoughts? Looking at the rules I have no ideas what we are suppose to do. Also, Anyone? Where is the map? I updated but still don't have it. |

I would like to close the fields on those 2 little islands, that keeps the Axis out of our back Yard. We will need to mount some defence against the JU88, each can carry 2 torps, so they can be hard on our static ships. Pick your squad rides, remembering that each plane must be flown at least once by each pilot. You can mix you rides but it is up to each CO to ensure that each pilot flies each plane at least once. |

We don't take land until Frame 3 7. Frame 1 - this is the pre-invasion frame and all allied beachheads will start destroyed and unavailable. Axis control Sardinia, Pantelleria and Lampedusa and may use those airfields. AI shipping will be proceeding to Tunis and Malta from the west and east and should be a primary target of Axis strike aircraft. That is why I want to close Pantelleria and Lampedusa on Frame 1 and sink the ships there and maybe get the port. We will also need to defend Malta |

OK Beaver, Here is some recon of the islands. The little island: F217: F216 Other Island F157 Note: There are 2 hangers on the south east side of the runway with planes parcked in them. The Hangers are not objects and bombs drop right through them onto the planes. F155 They all look doable. F157 is the toughest with a lot of spread out targets. |

Okay, can I get a plan and DTF for the attacks on the Islands. Then I can assign escort and possibly some additional jabo aircraft if needed. I think I need the 4th stationed on Malta for defense and the 475th there also to either cover bombing on the close island or to defend Malta. The RCAF, 23rd and Haze/AE will be on escort duty, though I may need one of the squads to protect Tunis and area. |

Bomb Loadouts Bombers carry lots depending upon the size of bomb. The Wellington can carry 2 Torpedoes. In the Avialable Aircraft list there was no B25J, but there was a B17F Strike Aircraft - P38F can carry 2 of either 250, 500 or 1,000 pounders and the Mossie FB can carry 4 500 pounders, 2 inside and 2 outside. There is no A36 in the available aircraft list Fighters - Spit Vb, P40E and P40F can carry 1 500 pounder each - Spit IXe can carry 2 * 250 pounders I hope this helps the bomb plotter if you think you need a few extra bombs for a target, of course, your fighters might ditch the ord if they need to to into fighter mode. The 2 islands can put 3 steps of aircraft into the air. |

The air strips and ports may be closable but the larger fields like F157 may prove just too much to take on. Any preferences on how long you want us to get to target and altitude preferences? Aircraft table mentions us having B24Ds available. I don't see why we should not use that all frames given that there are no per-frame restrictions on the aircraft types. Let me know your thoughts |

From the Series Rules: http://www.squadselectseries.com/events/TSU/TSUgrules.htm Quote: 5. Squad Aircraft - each pilot must fly the aircraft listed for their squad in the A/C table at least once. It is up to the squad to decide which a\c type they will fly more than once during the series. No new a\c will be deployed for this series with the possible exception of the P40F. If it is updated for play in WB this may be subsituted for the P40E if the player so chooses. Quote: United Mud Movers(UMM) 4 1 B B25C, B25J, Wellington, B24D I interpret this as you only get to fly one plane twice. IF that is in fact true, the mission objective needs to be decided first in order use our assets wisely. |
