23rd FG copies all. I don't think the Kates will climb in excess of 15K and will be tight so they should be visible a good ways away. Data mining indicates @ 40min from frame start the bombs will be falling.... |

Only one type per frame though. In Frames 2 and 4 the P36C will be available from only Wheeler Field. The squad that initially starts there may choose to fly the P36C or the P40B. No plane switching once you launch in an a/c type. Here is the rule but it does not clarify all or a mix... Jabo, please respond... |

The 352nd flew a mix of P-36 and P-40 in Frame 2 so there should be no problem with a split formation |

Thanks Dawger .... 475th will have a choice of mix, just don't switch mid frame. |

Since I am intimately familiar with the FM's I would like to reiterate that the P40 best altitude is 10 to 20K where it holds a speed margin and is able to dive away. Once you get below 10K the speed margin is minimal and enemy within visual range will stay within visual range down low. Below 5K the Zeke holds all the cards. The P40 will not perform above 25K while the A6M2 has no problem climbing to 33K and performing fairly well up there. The P36 SEEMS like an uber ride but it isn't. It turns slightly better than the P-40 because it has a better power to weight ratio but it cannot turn with an A6M2. It is a total dog above 15K as it has a very low altitude motor. Its guns are weak and the A6M2 damage model much stronger than it should be. The P36 may be slightly more survivable in a low altitude fight but against greater numbers it will be easily surrounded. The bombers COULD come in at an altitude above the effective ceiling of the P36 if they choose to get a clue (Personally, if I were strike lead I would put the bombers on the deck with every fighter in visual range of them so that any attack by us is trapped against the floor where the A6M2 is easily the victor) |

You can mix and match the P36 and P40 in the one squad allowed them. Sorry I missed F5, it is closed as well. You are going to have to central to Pearl but most of the good targets are there anyway. |
