<S> Comrades

I'll be taking the big chair this Frame as Hitman is buried under a Super Stallion.

Some preliminary thoughts:

per Gumski's post, I'd like to see all strike and bomber groups coordinate on one target at a time for a couple of reasons, faster closure of the target = less time on target = better survival, and density of the fight lets us concentrate fighter support and give you guys better cover.

Also I'd like to try and use our fighter groups as a diversion to draw the enemy away from our strike targets though this may interfere with providing cover for the strikes.

What I'd like to hear from the S/B groups is, what targets do you want to go after? We need primary, secondary and tertiary targets so we can maintain maximum flexibility when the fit hits the shan. Are there any key DAR stations that need to be removed to help cover our targets? Should we be hitting their fixed assets (fields, industry) or mobile assets (shipping and tanks) or both?

My plan is to get frag orders up by tomorrow night or Friday morning at the latest. Any and all input is always welcome.

Cheers

Taking out radar and closing 182 and 263 last week was a big help to the north. so, I would count on the enama not having radar coverage over that area. I know there are 3 ships in the channel north of 182 that score points. I don't know the value of 16 or port 73. Hitting ships in port 73 scores no points, just helps close the base.
Now, I don't know what radar coverage we have up north now, with field 4 closed, it may be a clinker.
Whether or not we can capitalize on that remains to be seen.

Salute!

Our DAR coverage up north is basically nil. Same for the LW swine.

In the south, we are almost the same. F2 and F250 have DAR. Up north, F190 has DAR and it is a legal buff field.

The LW has DAR at these fields in the mid/south:

- F11
- F7 ( buff target?)
- F193
- F221 ( buff target?)
- F 21 ( a legal buff target)

I can't tell some field sizes due to the colors on my PDF. Sheesh! If the damned thing is AXIS, it should be fair game for we buffs. Same for the fields. We can takeoff from almost every field that is Red. Worse, the medium firled F25 is restricted to buff only!!!!!!!

All that being said, looks like taking out a lotta the LW fields down south and in the middle is worth a shot.

F21 is a tough nut, but we can do it is DR will be patient, and the Nomads can get there in time to help before the LW hordes show up. That's 'cause we will have to take off from F190, most likely. If we reverse, then NS and two-emgine strikers and Nomads can use F25 to prepare the tgt for the DR.

With only 2 frames left I say we rape the shipping lanes. I mean REALLY rape the shipping lanes...........DRs, Nomads, and NS's all fly PE2's (Mossie VIs). Divide the freighter areas up and hit them hard before they know what is happening. Freighters only, scatter like roaches once done. They can't catch everyone.

Heh heh, Dew.

Sounds like fun, and points be damned, huh?

The Mossies have the legs, and I tried one with the RX and those suckers seem deadly.

Dew, I like that idea. I think we can score a bunch of points off shipping. They're only worth 2 pts each but there are a lot of freighters to be sunk. We can work a couple of areas and hit the one not being covered.

One thing (of many) that has me concerned is the short legs of our fighters. If we have to hold strikes because the target is capped your fighter support will run out of fuel pretty quick. Working the fighters in relays would be a solution but would limit the numbers we can provide on target at any one time.

Keep the ideas coming guys.

The mossie has lots of fuel and can choose an indirect path to target. Perhaps we could have certain areas nearby where the fighters will be orbiting ... a safe area to run to perhaps. I like the far south west with there being so many targets there.

Well if you sent a dozen mossies or B25Ds(not sure of the range on these strafers) to Sevastopol you would find lots of freighters and some covering DDs. Any ord left and you could hit 47 as the NS have hit the coast almost every frame and not seen a fighter there. I doubt you need fighter cover but the Yak9D has good legs. Return and do the same thing for the crossing from Crimea to Kuban. You are going to need major fighter cover here though as its right in the LW backyard. Alternatively you could split up for the second sortie and send small grps to hit the covoys in the Azov Sea and south of Kerch and leave the straits alone until it appears the enemy is busy elsewhere.

Also the NS have been very successful hitting the relatively small targets such as small ports and landing strips behind enemy lines. If you target the Crimea proper there is 47, 257, 258, 276, 288 and 289 all along that coast line that could be attacked by 4 ship elements and taken down. All are worth 4 or 5 points. Key here is to divide up and hit close to the same time so that when the enemy figures it out you are already on the way home and they are way out of position. Fighter groups could decide to defend one of the two remaining medium airfields while the strikes are out. If they use 25 its important to safeguard this so the enemy wont close it. They will probably go after both remaining medium fields to force you to fly IL2s in the final frame so its important to protect them.

First off, I don't want to split our forces. I want to concentrate our efforts in one area, covering our strikes and protecting our assets. I had originally envisioned a purely offensive effort for the points, but I don't want to lose 190. That would hurt us bad in Frame 5. With this in mind, we're staying N.

Axis has 2 medium fields left, 181 and 21. I expect the Knights to come out of 184 (again) to exploit the DAR hole they've made toward 190. At the same time we've made a nice DAR hole in the same area we should exploit. I'd like to take out 181, then hit the port and shipping there. A strike approaching from the S can get to 20m of 181 before entering their dar. A few NOE mossies could even disable the 181 dar before the main forces heads in. 184 should also be hit to at least take out the radar and also befuddle the JG that's sure to be there. Fighter strike for 184?

Our other targets will be the port, shipping and tanks in the 182 area. We'll run a fighter feint N above the 6 line to try and draw some of their fighters that way and also look for the Knights. The remaining fighters will be covering the 182 to 190 area

Strike/Bombers: We have 3 steps of mossies or mitchells to doll out unless someone wants to haul all the way from 25. Let me know what yall prefer. Hopefully someone wants IL2s? Fighter squad take the ride of their choice. I'll have proper orders with fields tomorrow.

Comments, suggestions, and dope slaps always welcome.
