EDIT: Found the issue with my calculations. The hudrecord script looses data once in a while. Going forward I'll implement a script to cleanse the data before I publish. Numbers below have been corrected.
I am no expert on fighter planes. I flew the F6F and recorded some data and here are the results.
F6F - 100% + Drop Tank - Fuel Multiplier as set by the S3 arena (log on / log off then Free Flight)
Took off from a CV, with 100% + BST, 15ยบ flaps. Got gear, flaps up and switched off boost. Let her climb at a speed of 150.
Internal tank starts w/ 250 gallons. Burned out 50 gallons of this before switching to external. This is something I have seen fighter groups do so did the same.

Summary:
---------
+21 - 30K to 10x6
+31 - Over target
+55 - Must head back (24 minute loiter time)
+76 - Land back (~ 20 minutes to RTB and land) - This would be north of the 12x3 cross cause CV would have travelled ~25 miles in the mean time.
Details:
-------
It takes 83 miles of travel time and 21 minutes to get to 30K. As drawn the line from the 12x1 to the 10x6 is only about 50 miles. Hence one has to fly an indirect route to get here. Attached is one such an example of how this can be flown.
From there leveled out flying West to the 5x6 and then into the F20 area is a 57 mile or 10 minute journey. Fuel burn is uniform at about 5.7 Gallons per minute.
So we arrive over target with 223 gallons. It takes 13 minutes to RTB as the crow flies + a few minutes to slow down and land - so 85.5 gallons will be used up on RTB.
that leaves 223 - 85.5 = 137.5 gallons to loiter = 24 minutes of loiter time.
Note landing will be 10 miles south of where shown..Looks like this:
