On our side the attendance was low only -pd---, goflyj and I were there. Yet as a combined group it was an impressive box of bombers.
The first wave of attacking zeke's made their pass and while the bombers and embedded KoN fighters killed a few of them they managed to kill a few of us. Soon the other fighter groups came in and were able to keep the enemy clear of the bombers. The rest of the group moved on to the target some with very few parts left. First sortie was fairly good I think a total of 18 vessels were sunk.
RTB was a little chaotic (My fault mostly) but again thanks to the excellent fighter support overall. I could see that the returning bombers were well covered.
A few of us including myself were too fat or lazy to land on that carrier successfully. It was sad to have a kill awarded due to a bad landing but so it went
I on my part will be practicing these carrier landings more often
Special mention to -pd--- who had not flaps and rudders and made it safely on the deck.
With only 3NS, 1 KoN and 1 UMM bomber left a second sortie was organized. CoolOne led the group into the target area. Again met with opposition en-route the fighters did a great job of intercept. -pd--- was hurt bad (elevator, rudders, flaps, fuel leak). It was good to soon see the ships being sunk. I think second sortie saw some 10 vessels go down plus a few more were staffed down by the fighters.
I believe the group made it back to base. I saw Mt. Dew's report on PDs brave landing effort. Sorry I couldn't be there to watch.. ~S~
Thanks to the Fighters, Frame CO Hawk and Game Master -jabo- , and stats wizard phenix as always.
