All changes will be red.

Operation DEEP SIX will be as followed.

Strikers (KoN, UMM and NS) will be led by Noflyz in Tubs.

352nd - Forward Sweep
4th - High Cover
23rd - Rear Cover.

This should surround the strikers and give them a chance to get there and back. At least that is my hopes.

The strikers will be at least 15k going in in order to allow the escorts to cover them

Launch Time:

Strikers: T+0
Escorts: T+0

Noflyz will be posting the route. I want a wall around the strikers and I know you all are capable of doing it.

Good luck all!

23rd FG copys. Endurance in the F6F with drop tank is 106Min so we will have a delayed roll from the same boat the TBD's fly from.

The tubs should climb N and S along the CV line staying out of radar. Once we get to 15K (took me 60 miles and 25 minutes with 100%, 2x500s) we can level then head west. GS is 174 at 100% so just under 3 miles a minute. That's 23 minutes on their radar.

Noflyz, is working on the route and I agree with Mt-dew. We will stay out of DAR range as long as possible.

Neg squatch sir, endurance at 0.75 fuel multiplier is only 78 minutes with droptank at 100% throttle.
As such, I think we must not launch the fighters to early on the strike sortie. (Maybe make a forward sweep sortie to reduce IJN numbers, then RTB re-arm for a 2nd sortie escort mission? Meanwhile the TBD's can climb.)

Cheers! :-)

Talking to folks all around 10K seems to be the preferred alt. Here's the route I have come up with. It takes 77 minutes round trip and takes us over bunch of shipping lined up quite nicely.

Launch:
Southern CV - I assume it will be at the 12x8 this time as well.
Start engines, let it rev up full throttle, + Boost 2 - throw in 15º flap at the end of deck if you need it.

Loadout:
TBD - 100% - 12x 100lbs.
Savo 2 - If you see a boat click once, if you see a cargo ship 2 clicks and DDs 3 clicks. This is if you are running the length of the vehicle.
Some vehicles we will run across i.e. sideways, best to click once and depend on another bomber hitting it.
The route has plenty of well lined up vehicles.
Wingman Trail 30 feet
Climb speed 105mph. - Climb out at Boost 1 - thereafter 95% or so.

Personally I think the tubs should be as high as we can get. 10k is too low!! 15k should be minimum. That route noflyz is too short before we enter dar. I flew it yesterday and I was 60 miles away from the base (direct line) before I reached 15k. Also since this is probably a single sortie night for the TBDs (stupid airplane) I vote we fly the strike mission on the fighters second mission. Let the fighters go in a sweep and stay high and take some numbers down. We can be climbing as they arrive on station and rtbing back.

I'll wait for some others to chime in before I change anything. We can reach 15K flying 44 miles for about 22 minutes. The route I posted is not 15k it's 10k.
