Was a learning experience I think. Could have been a better outcome had I held the 23rd and 4th a bit before launch. Looks like a few ships got sunk, but we lost the buffs because the fighters had to rtb for fuel and ammo before they got to tgt. You guys did a great job for having so short a planning phase. I think we had good coordination between groups an scored a decent number of ftr kills. Thanks to all for a great job....<S> |

<S> Pappy. Ya done good with the time available! Changing parameters of rides put any real planning off a bit, thanks for taking lead on this one! <S> Kudos also to 4th FG pilot Billpe. He did better at flying a towed fighter plane with 20 mph over the wings than most I've seen On my FE it looked like he caught a one wire, then moved fore and aft on the boat about 80' for quite a little while. <S> Billpe. I can only hope that when they unloaded the CV that he got the safe landing that he actually made. Billpe towed behind the USS Connex |

Well me and billpe did practice low-n-slow manouvering duels before this S3. I can see he's taken it to another level completely . /Robert 4th FG |

~S~ Thanks for the lead papyb. Good job. The forward sweep did what it was supposed to, unfortunately our timing was not correct. |

Pappy It's not easy being Frame 1 CO and you did a great job. The first frame is always a learning one. I am the next one on the hot seat and learned a lot from frame 1. <S> |

That was quite fun 1st frame actually. I must have landed decent strikes on at least 10 different cons. At least 4 dove out with either engine oiled and or fuel leaks. 2 confirmed kills I think.. Went a bit gungho at the end because I came across 4 zekes in a tight group on the six of a striker at SL spraying away. Shot at them all but killed none. Went a bit nutso fangs out then in frustration and lost my vator in the ensuing melee... That's what happens at 3.30am when you really need to go to bed! >S |

My fisrt landing attempt resulted in a bolster, but caught the 2 wire on go around. My second landing was spot on. (was this towards the end of the game? If so, I was waiting on deck, catching a sea breeze and working on my tan while awaiting orders for a third sortie that never came) <S> dewolf ~billpe PS I was wondering about some lag last nite as I had a Zero in a very slight climb d2 in font of me going after Robert, and I seemed to shoot right through him with nary a ping! Or, more likely I need to go back to gunnery school. |
