4th was based at F 190 and tasked with tgt cap at F 182 as well as escort for the Nomads gown low.
Pappyb was on GCI for this one as Bombr is DNIF for a bit. I launched the main group at T+0 and climbed Se to 2000 ft afte which they amde a left turn towards 182. The 335th Sqdn launched to catch up to the Nomads. As we were climbing towards tgt area, it became obviuos that "Jerry" had
good intel and was converging on the area. 4th got bounced a bit east of 182 by a large group and Light, who was in lead, turned for home, but not before they had to fight their way out. As he brought the group SE, he saw the Nomads being attacked and tried to clear the bandits. It was a
bloody battle and we lost 12 for 7 kills and 7 assists.
Light kept the remaining 6 pilots safe for the rest of the night as they played cat and mouse with a group of Luftwaffe. When it became clear the DRs couldn't get into F 16, we stood down.
Thanks to Besea for sitting in the big chair.....it was a good plan, but the enemy had the same idea.

Salute!

Was not the typical Nomad night, 4th-men

Two of the regulars had serious problems, so we delayed as long as we could and coordinated with the Stalkers. They went in first, despite those mean 40 mm acks at F182.

I decided to join with the south grope and Nooky was with me when I had the black screen/view malfunction. So we only had one "regular", plus our two guest pilots.

I promise ( actually demand) to coordinate better next two frames.

Secondly, the north attack was prolly obvious to the LW swine. Just look at available bases we had. I don't know where thay all came from besides F182, then the bases further west. It was brutal.

that's why they always go to 35,000ft.
you can cover 20 miles pretty quick at that alt either in level flight or in a shallow dive.
