Jabo Sir,
The AI routines did not work. The B17's where way too low and way too slow. There was no way to protect them.

I am thinking maybe it would be better for the Buff's to follow the AI routines? Maybe if you made two buff AI group of (10) B17's that follow OR route, and then the Player Buff Groups follow a AI group, it might be more cohesive a group?
So it would go AI Buffs - Buff Group #1 - AI Buffs - Buff Group #2

Can we (i.e. players) create our own scripts and give them to you? Would this help?

Muskie,

Did you read my conversation on the General board. I think next sortie we need to learn from this one and get better at want we do. I don't care about protect the AI's, protect us that are trying to get our job down. This 300' is keeping us from having a tight formation. If they were closer, we could have survived better but rules are rules I guess.

Yes. Dobs and Zinhawk are taking what I said personal and that is sad. I was pointing out a setting and they gave me a lecture.

Check your PM buddy.

There was something wrong with the AI.
What speed were you travelling before you hit the coast? I thought it was around 250 mph indicated?
Two of the AI grps ditched themselves for some reason. All 6 had the same routine so it doesnt make sense. Only thing that was different was the altitude.

Running the same routine over and over again with different a/c and speeds to see if it occurs again. As usual we will make adjustments to the AI if they are not functioning properly. Most ships and GVs work at least :)

I'm not sure what that means.

I do think that the AI formation should be in front of the real guys.
Probably not easy to set up.
Anyway to test before the next frame?

Hawk, just Cat talking here, (Not representing the 352nd) the biggest issue I saw was the reporting of your group behind us (I thought you guys were behind us looking at the WP numbers)
Turns out Knights were way ahead of us. We got a report of Knights behind us and then immediately ahead of us.
Seeing the AIs was confusing.
We need tighter comms next frame.
I suggest that you dedicate a couple of guys to constantly update your position every sixty seconds.

I'm not sure we/I was in position to ward off any attacks.

Cat, the 300' was in reference to the wingmen not AI. Jabo made a small rule that most missed saying we need to set wingmen to 300'spread. That is too wide and caused issues.

Juice speaking for the 352nd.

Attempted to warn about AI before frame one and asked for priority of escort.

So now will state that 352nd will prioritize REAL pilots for primary escort.
Also we will need best locations for REAL buffs often and in due time (even though it is another burden on already taxed buff drivers) to keep priority.

We desire to be effective for our buff friends and I believe we could have delayed our engagement time if we had known Buff Group #1 locale more accurately and had the go ahead to ignore AI buffs for escort.

Unless otherwise commanded this will be our priority from this point forward.

KILL THEM ALL

Yes, 23rd arrived over a buff group, to high for icon's or anything, assumed they were human but didn't have time to confirm before dropping in on several bad guys on buffs, only to find to our dismay that we had dropped to 15 k and they were ai....to late, we were engaged and as we only had 10 min of fight time fuel, we then disengaged and had to go home....twas a bust for us helping humans out...and we felt bad and were upset with ourselves....frog of war...Lesson learned,

AI show up on DAR as AI inverted Ts so its best to have them behind the lead box. Also as they straggle backwards you dont want them attracting attention to trailing or damage player bombers. With one player box it will be easier to coordinate.

Throwing off the HOs has always been a planning tactic and should be very important in this series considering the weakness of the bombers to headshots. Zags and Zigs by the bomber box will throw off the AI but they are behind anyways. But its very important to know the exact position of the player bombers for the escort is zags and zigs are used.
