Gentlemen, Hawk, the Knights and Gum's will be upping from F110 and following the red line to T33. Can you please divide targets to your group? Can you assign a lead (and backup)? Noflyz, The UMM and NS will be upping from F6 and following the green line to T28. Can you please divide targets to our group? Do you want to lead the group or one of the NS? Note on DTF, we will need to start WEP1 climb at wp1/wp21 with a CS of 135 to make the right altitudes and seperation. Buff group #1 (Hawk) will be at 24K and Buff group #2 at 26K. rest of the run at 100%, catch-up will have to use WEP. According to my calculations and test flying, this will give us a 40 mile separation and 2,000' altitude spread. If lead group does any TAC turns, the trailing group will have to follow to not reduce our gap. Also, how do you both feel about the fuel? Without being able to test at the .8 I may be a little conservative but don't want to run out. I just don't know. Thoughts? After the fighter guys give feedback, orders will be final. Expect to post tomorrow am. Thanks for the help!!! |

Salute! As I posted two other times on the buff forums, Gums( 305th BG) will fly as a guest of the UMM. Gofly ( Ag-8) will prolly fly with the Knights. Gundoc ( 22nd BG) will fly as a guest with UMM. PD has transferred to UMM from the 22nd Red Raiders. I'll work out this with the Janitors when current BZ schedule on home front eases up a bit. Gums sends... |

I think Noflyz had the amount of gas that we are using. On these long runs, I am concern about running out of fuel as some did last time we did this. Getting the 24k is my only concern. I will try and do a run tomorrow. |

at fuel div 0.7 B17G with 1000lbs + 60% fuel = 180 mins flight time at BST1 B24J with 1000lbs + 55% fuel = 180 mins flight time at BST1 Event only lasts 3 hours so you should be covered. you also save some fuel in level cruise without BST on. |

Do you want to lead the group or one of the NS? Sorry have been very busy all day. Will work on target assignments tomorrow. Will be happy to lead and PD can be secondary just in case of disconnects etc. but please don't hesitate if you want one of the NS to take the lead. |

Well the initial fuel remaining time is not very accurate (or rather not linear). BST1 begins by providing the equivalent of 133% throttle. As we climb this will drop down to 113% and to 100% when it runs out. That said I think we should stick to the 70% as planned. Quick tests show that it matters little to these large birds over this distance and a little extra is always good if you get a leak ;-P |

yes Hawk, that is 33. note: the trees start to render while in the bomb site and obscure the targets. Is that an option to turn off? |

I have flown at least 3 series in ETO doing this (15 frames) since 2009 (POS was my first series). We have always had a high otto and buff tuff and whenever we went deep to Berlin we suffered 45%~65% casualties. Here is a link to the last Berlin Run http://www.errthum.com/troy/warbirds/s6/framedetails.php?series=ADDR&frame=2 The Leads and stragglers are always the 1st hit. I have no idea why Jabo wants us to go this deep with default otto and buff-tuff. I expect that we will need a 3rd or 4th before we are done p.s. We will go with 70% fuel. My 1st frame in POS our whole squad ran out of fuel on the return flight about 15 miles short. I really don't want to do that again. |
