Orders were to strike ports at 60 & 58 & target shipping where possible. Airframe: P-39d Airfield F96 Pilots: Houndg, Farout, Hobo, Muskyz & Coolon (Mt-dew had computer problems) Miscl: Work in conjunction with the AE who were flying P-40s out of the same airfield (F96) First mission had us heavy climbing up to about 10k to strike the port at 60. AE stayed with us and continued climbing. We were alerted to cons in the area, then as the AE bore right through and drug the fight to the north we were able to dive west and make a dogleg towards the target. I got separated from the rest of the stalkers but we ended up over target at approximately the same time. We did not have very good success initially as we lost two pilots to the AA and were warned of additional cons in the area. Farout & I exited quickly to the south east. The AE were coming to meet us when we stumbled across an enemy ship. We attacked and destroyed it then returned to base again under the protection of the AE. Second mission we and the AE all grabbed bombs and headed north to find a convoy, if not found we would continue back to the port at 60 to finish our attack. We came across another individual freighter and attacked while the rest of the group continued north. After sinking the lone ship the NS went to meet up with the AE who then found the convoy. The entire group then attacked the convoy sinking all the transports (4). At this time I was knocked down and don't know what happened the rest of the night. It was very good to work with the AE and we had some success sinking ships, anyone else please feel free to give more details. |
