Is it Leipzig or Dresden or Hamburg? Personally and given it's near the anniversary of the Dresden bombing, I think we should avoid Dresden, it's been a debating point ever since, even to the extent of being classified as a war crime. Even Churchill had difficulty justifying it afterwards.
Are the "aerial photos" taken by our heroic recon pilot, of Leipzig or Hamburg? If we head to the centre of Germany rather than a port, a similar route to last week can be taken but I recall from last week, I was ambushed by 2 163's about 25-30 miles from the axis/allied line so I don't think a southerly target will necessarily be safer unless you limit the fields they can use.
Given the lack of cohesion with the bomber formations, I think we should go as one group, this will help the escorts as well. Perhaps cap the height to 25-27K and limit the fuel to 60% maximum, even this amount leaves loads left over given we are landing in mainland Europe & not the UK, it could be less or are you trying to handicap the bombers with weight?
On a historical point, German radar was severely curtailed at this point, can we limit radar effectiveness?
Finally, when will final orders be issued?
I'll keep monitoring posts.
Phil

Leipzig. OK. Suggest Bomber group is lead as one with stragglers using doglegs to catch up which is the general idea. Where are we to expect axis fighters? And what type?
What is load out, fuel load and altitude, hopefully not as high as last week, + do we run with 2 or 3 AI's?
