Preliminary OrdersPending confirmation of West Coastal opportunities by the RCAF....
Expect mainly Combat Air Patrols by everyone but the RCAF and the DRS. With those exceptions, the Frame is predominantly defensive in planning. Both of those Squads will have "forward basing" and should expect to relocate to the MOB following their first sortie. It must be successful as going back is not, likely, a possibility. CAP Squads will likely be instructed that IF they see targets of opportunity, AND have selected airplanes to fulfill that opportunity, that they are welcome to go for anything they like. All pure fighter aircraft early in the Frame may give us an idea of how much attrition has been achieved may give us an opportunity to utilize jabo and strafe aircraft on subsequent sorties. Please select targets that are "100% doable" with the resources available to you at the time. CAP zones may overlap in the "middle" where there seem to be a lot of targets. Mutual support is encouraged. Be aware that some raids may be planned by the enemy on opposite sides of the map in an attempt to get all of our fighter aircraft concentrated in one area.
DRS assist with the RCAF targets, if necessary. Pick-up F-115 on the way in, if possible. If the RCAF can achieve success on their own, investigate targets from your alternate selected field to the NE where action is likely to be minimal. Sweep escort will be available. Direct escort is not possible with the resources available.
Anticipate that each Squad will choose their rides from their remaining inventory.
The object of this Frame is to initially protect a lot of resources that are very near the Front, and then later in the Frame to exploit any advantage that we may gain.
COs and Flight Planners are welcome to critique or suggest alternates until these become Final Orders.
