Got it Dawger..I will look for final post to find out what sector you want us to patrol..

I can't help but wounder that we are leaving points hanging out there easy for the pickings..what I mean and I have a bold in you face idea I would like for you to consider..

Though two frames the LW came at us in a big buff stream with heavy escorts from Sicily. .leaving a lightly unprotected area wide open. Though two frames... 1st sortee every one intersepted the buff stream..When enemy buffs was RTB.. we Allied just furballed with enemy fighters N of Malta..on their 2nd sortee. I believe that we can use this to our advantage and go on the attack..defense is always a losing position. Where offense always wins out...
I hope you have a open mind and bare with me

Keep Hawk and his bombers on the ground until enemy strike is RTB and Malta is clear RTB every one ASAP...launch Hawk and his buffs to strike Lampedusa Island which is isolated and lightly defended And launch every spit we have heavy
HAWKS Buffs job is to De ack and kill Dar em on first pass..let them flip and drop remaining bombs on the Tgt's..After buffs are all clear and RTB..Un leash the heavy spits to bomb and strafe and remaining tgt's to close the air base, port and post..
Strafing spit will not haft to worry about ack..or some idiot upping a GV..it will be a free for all. Planned and excuted correctly our second sortee. Will keep us out of a furball N of Malta.and gain us some decent points.

Attack where enemy is weak.. catch them napping..and show no mercy..

It's just a idea..

And a good one. Dawger wanted to camp Lampa last frame to keep the strikers down ....but was over ruled. I'll let him speak for himself though:)

Well this is a fruitful discussion.

I don't see how we can do it and be effective, but last frame they waited until we engaged before LF 6 went after the boats. Maybe make a pass and then run to boats? Points from Frame 2 would shed light on if it is even worth the endevour.

Discussions with RC all end up like this.

Back on topic.

We will all fly in one big pile once we are all allowed to sortie. I may even hold everyone on the ground and launch at once.

We will all fly together for the entire frame.

Where we fly will be determined by events

Discussions always start with you dawger not me. lol but understood.

Well we are all staying on the ground until they are all inbound so the plan Besea outlines is a possibilty with some modifications.

Spitfires probably are going to need drop tanks for what I have in mind. What I would really like to do is chase a large group of enemy to Lampedusa or Pantelleria and then pin them on the ground with a full strength STRIKE/CAP over wherever they land to rearm/refuel.

I have to workout some fuel numbers to see what is feasible.

Foss-J Eagles intel office:

Put it to rest the subject: In reference to rcflys comments.

FOR CLEARIFICATION,
so other units or our S3 event CO does not get confused.

At latest report:
1. The 8th and Eagles are flying together as a wing. Nothing has changed.
2. Rcflys does not have authority to make such a statement.
Weis is the CO to the 8th,
Besea is CO of Eagles.
3. To my knowledge there has been no comment by either of these fine CO's changing the status to our "flying wing" in S3.
END:

COMMENT:
4. There have been a minor personnel changes with in the units pertaining to individual pilots and know by both of these CO'. Not effecting our operations in the S3.
5. Any further comment or correction having to do with this fine unit should only come from or be discussed with one of these two authorities as required for accuracy's sake. Weis, or Besea.

cheers :| <S>

Good to hear that FOSS, when a squad is too small it is not effective. That is why RCAF 401,416 and 417 joined to form RCAF 127 Wing. ;)
