OK - Cool.
19th it is.
Conditional response after all these years is to have a frame after a holiday weekend off. Lf6 Command was itchy.
I will spend some time in the rules and look at the AARs from the first Frame 1 Allied Side and compare notes. I cannot wait to read the Axis forum again and see what altitude the Bomber Groups suggest to their new escorts.
Sortie 1 in Frame 3 they can be wherever they want to be as we will be in the tower until the drop.
Sortie 2 in Frame 3 and Frame 4 will be of interest. They are a stubborn lot and I predict they will use nearly the exact same altitudes.
5000 feet for sortie 1 in frame 3 and 15,000 to 20,000 for all the rest.
Coming in on the deck would be an admission they made a mistake and that is unlikely to happen.
In frame 1 they egressed RIGHT over Wheeler. They generally turn to a heading directly to home base or in this Carrier. They are not bright or patient. They will be in a hurry to get back to the carrier. (Yes I know that is a terrible thing to say about our esteemed and illustrious bomber pilots but an accurate picture of an opponents mental capacity and state is an important planning concern)
So their egress will depend on where Jabo puts the CV's. He may do them a big favor and put them south west of Oahu which is a better egress route by far. If we figure out where the CV's are early enough we can launch and POSSIBLY catch them on the way back to the boat. More importantly we can get high and wait for them on sortie 2. Sortie 2 they will fly a direct line to the North Shore bases if the CV's are north west of Oahu or a direct line to Pearl if the CV's are south west of Oahu. They will launch sortie 2 about T+100 plus or minus 10 minutes and hit their targets about 30 minutes later.
If we can be straddled high on the ingress route at T+ 100 close to their carriers we can make life miserable for them. We don't want to pounce to soon. We want them to climb high enough to give us altitude to make our passes and escape
