I whipped up a dds to aid in getting the Hammer to the Anvil.

475FG will be in one or more of the small rectangles near Malta, off radar.

Ideal trap location is the small green box at the south end of Whiskey.

In any case we hope to trap them off their radar so this likely means in the 1 or 2 triangles.

If they plan to strike Malta Orange Box is most likely where they will be to stay on radar as long as possible.

A simple reference to a wedge letter will tell us where the Anvil group is in general. If you need help just tell us where to meet you. "Help South C" will get us moving in that direction.

Since the CO wants to spring the trap off enemy radar, please don't call us into the enemy radar unless there are two conditions

1. The enemy is there in greater than 20 strength

2. They are all coming down to engage

In the absence of the above drag them to green box and let us know you are coming.

Download link below. Rename sicily.dds and place in Warbirds folder

Thanks for the help dawger, might be useful for the gents in flight. Unless the LW venture on their own towards Malta (a sweep or a strike), we need to entice them. This also keeps the axis GCI padlocked on the SE end of Sicily...and we want that. I'll be in the tower watching the dar picture and trying to keep track of the groups.....as we have all shared before, coms are essential. Periodic 'here i am' reports certainly help the CO and help the other squads too.

I like this type of map Dawger, but it is new to us.
I downloaded the .dds file and placed in the WB main directory (after moving the original out).
When I bring up the map it still looks the same.
How do I activate the .dds file?

Also, can I have the grid map up too, or is it one or the other?
Woulds it be too busy with both maps up? (some of our guys are not going to switch)
Can you toggle between them?

What is the grid coord for the Anvil in case we just use the original map.

just save this map as sicily.dd in your WB directory.

I don't think its too busy with the WB grid on.

The primary focus of this map is the lettered boxes and not the Bullseye system.
