Salute!

Not a great night for our grope of vagabonds and guests.

So WLDBIL-ski and Bolls-ski show up and ask to fly with us. Super! Without the formal briefing and some practice, both performed exceptionally.

Two Nomads had severre technical problems, but we still had four of us. Unfortunately, trying to solve the problems we were very late taking off.

Gofly assumed lead for our southern route and Gums delayed to fly the norhtern route. 4th escorts were hovering above us at F4. Gums decided to help the south grope and hit some 88's that had been assigned to Gundoc, who could still not stay connected more than a few seconds. Pd had a severe screen problem and could not fix it or fly. Trying to join, Gums had the infamous screen freeze and died before getting control of the plane.

Gofly did a good job leading, and the flight went to the port versus F182, as NS had already destroyed the field. Upon egress, WLDBIL-ski was bounced and went down( welcome to buff missions when no good coord with the lites, heh heh). Gofly and Bolls-ski made it home.

Second go was Gofly and Bolls-ski. They hit the port and egressed.

Third go Gundoc had a good connect, so those three went back to the port or F16. Gofly was bounced and went down. Bolls-ski and Gundoc made it to the port, but Gundoc was bounced and went down. Bolls-ski pressed home NOE and got one kill, and his ghost gunner, Gundoc, helped with another kill. Eventually, the enema swine pecked away until Bolls-ski went down.

Well-done under the circumstances, Nomads! Hope PD gets his system working soon. Wish we could have been more helpful to him prior to the event.

Gums....Nomads,

I know you guys are shall I say the most "senior" of the S3 so I thought I might check and see if you have updraded your internet connections from dial-up yet. :lol:

I am fortunate enough to have cable and that works great for me.

Salute!

Sheesh, Light. Ya mean we can forget morse code and actually get a direct connect to the WB server?

Maybe we could even have Team Speak!!!
+++++++++++++++++

Actually, two of us may have found a partial solution. Seems two of us have closeby neighbors with very high-powered routers. So I am gonna try the old aluminum foil trick and shield my laptop from everything except my own router. Failing that, I'll hook up directly to my cable modem and turn off the router, then fly on my iMac in the war room. After trying some ping tests and such, the basic problem seems to be the number of intermediate servers between us and WB central.

I went to cable modem about 5 years ago after having DSL phone line connection problems and such ( cable being a back-up for my DirecTv that I installed all by myself, and during hurricanes the satellite goes before the cell phones. Cable stays up almost always, but old-fashioned phone line seems to work no matter what. Just ask me about my Katrina rescue mission of my 86-year old Mom and Dad the day after).

The "black screen" problem is what bothers me the most, and two of us had it Sunday night.

Yea, wireless should not be used for gaming. It's to unstable and you'll just get disconnected at the worst of times. Since some years back I only play games with direct cable to the modem.
