Night Stalkers Frame 2 AAR
Target: Enemy shipping in northern Germany.
Based at F107 in England we were flying the venerable Mosquito VI Fighter Bombers.
Loadout was drop tanks and 2 X 500lb bombs.

Mtdew, Coolon & B-frog left early in the frame for the long flight around the north sea to the target rich environment of northern Germany and as far east as Bergen.
Flight over water was uneventful until almost to Denmark when Mtdew discoed, B-frog & I continued towards Bergen.
On the eastern side, south east of Denmark B-frog fell victim to the disco problem as well.
(both Mtdew and B-frog re-upped and headed into the north sea again)
I made it to Bergen, found 4 freighters there steaming towards a rivermouth. I was able to sink 3 of them but ran out of 20mm cannons and the .303s did nothing to the last freighter. I tried dropping my bombs on it but the d-fused floating bombs were of no use.

I exited the area and scouted the remaining targets to my west for Mtdew & B-frog. Found 4 more freighters, moved on to the next but couldn’t find them. Mtdew arrived and I led him to where the 4 freighters had been entering the river area but they were nowhere to be found. We looked and looked but to no avail. Mtdew then discoed as well as b-frog just as he was close enough to the F69 area to start looking for ships. With me out of ammo and everyone discoed and so too far away to get back in time, I started the long flight back to friendly lines and eventually returned to base (quite late) at F34.

Totals
3 pilots
4 disco-no damage
No losses

3 Freighters sunk.

It was good to have B-frog flying with us again after a long absence. Mtdew was understandably frustrated and left with a few phrases that Yosemite Sam would’ve found quite colorful.

MT-DEW:
Sorry to hear about your disco problems, but your squad brought home the bacon (15 points). Your squad efforts have helped to extend the Allied lead over the Axis. Congratulations!

Hope you fellas can get the disco problems resolved before the next frame. If the idea we have is accepted, and if I can get enough Doolittle's Raiders, I'd like to embed 2-4 of them with your squad up North. (See Preliminary Ideas thread)

Thanks,
Darryl <S>
