Gentlemen,
The 352nd Fighter Group launched F24 with heavy P-47Ds toward 115 target area. Dropping 1000lbrs from above 3k and getting 5 to 7 hits on mostly ack ack.
Reports of enemy interceptors to the north and the 4th Fighter Group had us move west and north to attempt to help with our heavy charges.
One of our own was shot down suddenly and near our rearm base at 114 causing us to realize we are already intercepted. Fights to the deck occurred over and over all the way to near F24.

Sortie 2 entailed P-51Ds and escort of our Buffs. All allied fighters did a good job forming and escort began.
15 miles short of the primary target enemy 190s and 109s came from east north east near 4 5 5 area. Combats ensued for us near the buffs for first 2 encounters, then we were forced to pursue lower as the 190s in particular were able to climb up readily and attack again and again the buffs.
Several victories logged during this encounter. Rearming necessary due to action.

Sortie 3 and mostly back in P-51Ds to continue buff sortie 1. Having trade in same areas of 4 5 5 and 115 target area with egressing and spotty buff late activity.
109K encounters more prevalent during this action. Many more victories logged with 2 losses near friendly territory. Enemy aggression was good and allied cooperation was very good.
All groups performed well.

Sortie 4+ had most 352nd attempting to clean up the primary target area and much running was encountered. One or two claims made and then 352nd patrolled to O'Dark-Thirty.
