Konnichiwa!

Operation Re will be a multi-front battle: Port Moresby, Goodenough and Milne Bay with coverage over the Invasion Fleet.

Plan Summary - The RCAF, 352 and Lf6 will roll fighters for the Goodenough/Milne Bay/Invasion Fleet area and provide aerial dominance over Allied air forces. The combination of these three groups is more than fifty fighters all within 40-60 miles from each other. This massive force will be on Allied radar for the duration of the frame so they will know where we are at all times. The Bomber groups will initially attack Port Moresby with the KoN fighters on station over the Kokoda Trail looking for P39s and then provide support for the bomb groups first mission at Port Moresby. The Bombers will then launch an attack at Goodenough halfway to late in the frame with support from the large fighter presence. Details below.

RCAF
F82 - Ki43

Roll at T+0 and provide CAP for the Fleet in the 6.3 - 6.2. Report any enemy contact, their numbers and dispatch all enemy attackers. Your support will be the 352nd and Lf6 - close to 30 Zeros.

352
F80 - A6M3 + DT

Roll at T+0 and sit on top of Milne Bay. Dispatch all enemy fighters and prevent any coordinated attack against the Invasion Fleet. You may be called to support the RCAF as they CAP the fleet. Additional support is Lf6 with approximately 15 Zeros.

Lf6
F79-80 - A6M3 + DT

Roll at T+0 and sit on top of Milne Bay. Dispatch all enemy fighters and prevent any coordinated attack against the Invasion Fleet. You may be called to support the RCAF as they CAP the fleet. Additional support is 352 with approximately 17 Zeros.

Strike Groups
Field of Choice from 48, 49, 63, 64, 66

KoN
Fighters - Ki43
Bombers - Plane of Choice

Knight Fighters - Roll at T+0 and head straight to the Kokoda Trail and position yourselves to intercept incoming P39 attacks on F77 and F78. Be Advised - There will be little support available as the majority of the force will be 80-100 miles away in Milne Bay. I do not anticipate a large Allied presence in the area due to the fact that we are sending high numbers to the South and they will be on radar virtually the entire time. Egress out of the region when your bomber group calls RTB.

Second Sortie - Support the Knight and UMM bombers on their attack on the fields at Goodenough. Be Advised - attacks at this field can be supported by 352 and Lf6 IF you come under attack.

Knight Bombers - Roll at T+0 with plans to attack Port Moresby. Inflict as much damage as you can on this one AND ONLY sortie to the Port Moresby area. You will drop on the fields first. Work with UMM on target identification and communicate any standing structures that remain.

Second Sortie - Plan to attack and close Goodenough Island Fields, again working with UMM to identify and destroy targets. I suspect there will only be time for one attack on Goodenough, so accuracy is paramount.

UMM
G4M

Roll at T+0 to attack Port Moresby. The Knights of Ni! will have bomber lead and drop on the targets first. UMM will delay dropping until the Knights relay standing targets. You all will egress together.

Second Sortie - Goodenough Islands. You will again fly with the Knights to attack Goodenough and again complete the destruction of the fields upon intel for standing targets from the Knights.

Thoughts

In (ADHD) no particular order:

The Intra-squad communication has been outstanding this series.

Allies will counter our invasion force with US Naval forces. These are targets too, but they shoot back.

The Allies cannot dive out if they are already on the deck. In frame 2, we were witness to many fights down low - very low. We work them from the top down and can annihilate their forces.

We need to find and destroy Allied AI routines. I have not looked at the points totals, but the Allies are getting huge numbers of AI kills on our Routines. No reason why we cannot do the same. EDIT - See Juice-san's post below. Arigato gozaimasu.

In Frame 2, the late frame B25 attack was hard to catch up to and in my case, I blew the initial pass and found myself below and rear of the bombers. The Type 32 will do better, especially with the 20mm. I do not think their B25s have a bottom guns - can someone with knowledge provide their Armament and best attacking method? Edit - See Juice-san's post below. Arigato gozaimasu.

I am open to questions and revisions as needed. Any changes will be posted in Red.

Sakai san,

Understood received.

352nd attempted to intercept and destroy AI routine aircraft in both frame one and two.
Issues observed (with corrections if I relay incorrect):
-Aircraft stuck on mountains at base next to ack
-NO aircraft AT ALL in named locations (possible because stuck on mountains)
-Aircraft in air within 5 miles of all bases at all times

If same as above and Ack purported to be "enhanced" even though NOONE was loitering in that ack on purpose (was very substantial). Then, getting the AIs I am aware of could get more killed than the enemy by 50%. I hope I am being given incorrect info and or perception. Otherwise I believe AI killing should be limited to last 45 mins of frame.(killable frame not last 15 mins).

B-25s this era should be "B"s thus low attack 20º right or left best and as always shoot for Pilot left ear.

Your perception that if they are low (4k and below) we should work top down is dead on. Move them away from our navy attacks south good also.

Seeing how 92 and 93 are closed, we can go can 90 again or hit 89 or 91. Noflyz, what say you? Do you think we can close 89 or 91 together?

Hawk, NFZ,

You boys concentrate on one first, then if you still have ordnance, the second. I bet with your combined groups, you can certainly close one and make the second one where even the natives won't want to dance.

Banzai!

@ Juice - Good stuff sir, as always. Annotated the OP.

Together yes! ~S~ name the target.

By ourselves we took 2 sorties on 90 w/ 4 pilots tho we also saved for 76. Concentrating on 90 alone we may be able to close it one pass.

Also field basing to remain same? No issues any case but I'll plan on getting out of 66 and arriving at target 5-7 minutes behind the Knights so hawk san can have time to report to us on what to hit.
