I have a wall of text coming later on, Hawk.

I did want to say TY to Wolf for posting the map...however, you forgot to keep Australia on the Map. For Chits and Grins, I was thinking of hitting that airfield.

More later on tonight.

Senatu 127 will be in Ki43's this frame.

If we close 103 & 104 this frame, their only assets will be F96 for Frame 3.
The shipping and ports at Milne Bay will be defended only by ACK in Frame 3.

Would be good for points now and more points next frame when we would need to close F96 again.

Also, when the bomb group is egressing, it should be fairly safe and some of the escort could look for C47's and shipping to the East.

Just some ideas (Ki43 can carry 2 250kg bombs) :)

Your AI will be hitting Morseby so you will have to cover two grps of bombers. The reason you did so well in Frame 1 was by the economic application of force on close-range targets. The AI mbl will not be so uber in frame 2.

Suggest 88 and possibly 76 next. With the numbers we had last time and AI drifting away I doubt UMM can do more than 1 small field. We'll do 2 sorties on 88 and chip away at 76 a bit each time hoping this time around we actually close it.

Alternatively we could hit 76 hard first and real fast and hopefully still have time for 2 at 88, initial attack will have to be lower alt tho. So high risk of bomber losses. Probably not worth the risk in the early frames.

Hey Hawk, there will be no aircraft out of Goodenough, when a field is closed, it is closed for the rest of the current frame and the next frame. We closed F96 last frame, so it is not available for operations this frame ;)

Sorry for the delay in replying...hard week thus far at work.

In Frame 1 outside of the first sortie - Lf6 did not see another enemy fighter. A total waste of one of three A6M frames. This frame, we plan to use the Ki43s and I think for my frame next week, we will finish our IJA duty so that we can have the Zeros for the last two frames.

With Goodenough airfield closed, I think we will see more and concentrated efforts in Port Moresby and down south at Gurney, Gili Gili and Waga Waga.

My first thought for frame 2 was to concentrate an attack at Port Moresby with all hands. Start with 352nd in immediately with max alt over the target area while Lf6 forms with UMM for a T+0 Launch and 127 and Knight Fighters form with KoN/Nomads on a T+20 launch from Lae.

As UMM/Lf6 enter Port Moresby area, Lf6 will clear and relieve 352 who will then assume duties to escort the UMM out of Port Moresby. Lf6 would then remain on station until 127 KoN fighters arrive ahead of the KoN/Nomad strikers. Lf6 would then escort the KoN/Nomad Strikers out of Port Moresby area while, UMM and 352nd replane and return to Port Moresby. Rinse and repeat until the Port and all adjacent airfield are closed. With large fighter forces over the area at all times, we can maintain area awareness and reinforce with massive squads/Composite groups.

The key would be the timing - we would need accurate time hacks and prompt arrivals and departures. Prudence on the Allied part would keep some defense down south until it is realized that the battle is all at Port Moresby. Should we experience exceptional accuracy and fortunes and close quickly, we could then target the south.

Ni Yen.
