4th had 16pilots for this mission; all in 110s. 15 came up from F3 with drop tanks for the run to the eighth parallel with our erstwhile GCI(bombr-) vectoring us. He warned of a large hostile force to our south east out of F160 and coming north. They also showed a group to east coming towards F91,92 and93. Figured those were buffs and he vectored us to them.As we arrived, so did the 352nd in their Hurris, higher than us (of course). The haze was above us and took the brunt of the first attack as we tried to extricate ourselves north west. Lost a couple in that fiasco and retreated to F46, hoping the ack would help. A couple of wounded planes made it down at 46, only to be vulched on take off(my bad..should have waited for them to leave). Pappyb took over GCI and bombr- flew second sortie. With light in command, they split the group with jedijc's flight of 4 as hammer and light's group lower and ahead for the initial contact, which was in the same area. The tactic worked and we got out with a couple of kills and losses. Light launched the remaining group(7) from F3 and worked the same tactic., but this time the 352nd knew it was coming and were ready for us. There ensued a running battle from 91,92 area back NW towards 46,47 area when light was able to disengage with 2 others and make it back to F3. Bolok+ was flying with us and tried to land his heavily damaged plane at 46, only to be strafed on landing. With only 3 left, light stood the 4th down. Totals: 14 lost 4 kills 2 assists Wasn.t fun being outmatched ny more manouverable A/C, but was exciting <S> all |

4th, Salute for picking me up when I logged in late in the frame. Was fun right up until we merged with the 352nd. |
