Orders were to hit targets in the south area.

Flying the F190 F8 we took off immediately and made for the enemy tanks north of 58. We were unopposed and destroyed as many as we could find. Next mission was a hunt for C-47 in the western middle of the map. Flew the route deep in enemy territory but did not see any aircraft.

Returned to base to get bombs to close 58. Dropped and eventually closed the field, however on return to base enemy aircraft were called out following us so we dropped our nose and sped home. These guys were persistent and we couldn't slow down to land, we flew further south east and landed at F28. While in tower we saw the AA over our ships so we took off and found a single P-38 attacking the freighters there. Hobo was credited with the kill then we returned to our original base to rearm. Seeing the action coming down south we decided to go up north.
We found and killed some more tanks but were jumped by spitfires before we were able to leave. Once again the F190 F8 saved our butts as we were able to nose down, put on the Super WEP and pull away from the spits.

Landing at 83 with some damage and fuel issues we reupped for home. With just a few minutes left we came across some more tanks and decided to strafe what we could. Eventually we landed back at home and were done for the night.

Totals:
2 losses to AA
Closed F58 (arty base)
killed many tanks
Trimmed many hedges

<S> to Hawk for putting things together and managing our assets, also would like to thank all the squads tonight as it seemed everyone was flexible and able to get themselves where they were needed.

Your Coolness:
From the S6 pages it is evident that your pilots had MANY hits on objects with both rockets and bombs, nice job. We found that tank settings varied greatly in Frame 3 from Frames 1 & 2 where all tanks and Mobile AAA trucks were strafable with fighter guns. In Frame 3, fighter guns had NO EFFECT on the tanks. What would you say it takes to kill any one tank? From just reading the S6 pages, it appeared that "some" were credited immediately and "some" did not "die" until the routine unloaded. Bottom line appears to be that fighters armed only with guns are wasting their time attacking tanks. (Just like in the MA)

Happy trails...

250kg bombs killed tanks with a near miss... 500kg even more forgiving.
The cannon on the F190F8 took down the tanks in one pass usually. 4 or 5 hits (didnt bother with the smaller mgs)

I dont think we got any tank kills from "unloading" they pretty much happened as we attacked.

Tried the J4m rockets, but not against tanks... was looking for C47 and didnt find them. Unloaded all 6 at 58 on the way home. they made a lot of pretty campfires but didnt kill anything on the ground. (not that I actually hit anything with em) :)

We are quite impressed with the 190F8 being able to accelerate away reminded us of strikes in 262s (not quite that fast though :) )
being able to bring 3 bombs is a lot of ordinance. its like a stuka that flys at 310 mph with bombs and runs away at 375mph.

Coolon

Thanks for doing a great job! I saw the cloud of green coming your way and was hoping you all made it out ok.

Once again thanks again.
