Brief to RA crews, noon 20 Aug 1940
The dastardly RAF is attempting to reinforce Egypt with a squadron of 12 Blenheim bombers. Radio intercepts indicate the last of them arrived this morning and are spread out across the airfields of Malta. Your job is to first locate these aircraft and destroy them all!
At least 30% of you must the SM.79 bombers (He111H-16 sub). The remaining pilots are in the MC.200.
The MC.200 may not carry bombs.

CM notes: The Blenheim AIs use the 3D model for the B-25 in invasion stripes and will have icons at close range. They can be difficult to differentiate from parked A/C in the bombsite. Low level reccce by fighters may be necessary to find them.

Fighters cannot carry ordinance, so we must scout for the Bombers, Drop Tanks will be a must.

I believe we should hold the bombers off target... off radar (60 miles)
Fighters should investigate airfields 212 219 221 225

The bulk of our fighters should orbit to the southwest so the scouts can run back into friendly air cover, avoiding flying thru the AAA that is NE of the airfields.

Bombers can come in when fighters have local superiority. coordination will be a must.

I will post more recon photos as I gather. Please speak up with additional ideas and suggestions.

Could I suggest having the bombers at different locations, since itappears there will be time to position them north, east and west. Come in from different directions.

Just thinking out loud.

I like having bombers at different locations, however I dont want the
Allies to be able to have local superiority over a few bombers.... how do we avoid that?
fuel for conversation.

I was thinking of scouting... and reporting. I will post images of each airfield below. taken with North to the top. If we can imagine the center of the runway... or wherever there is a crossing of runways (dark runways) to be the center of a clock... Give Clock position (3 oclock).. followed by Range from center (inner med outer) then the targets could be called out as F225 6 med meaning field... six oclock position and medium

All this is just to try and get the info to the bombers... its going to be confusing, but if we can all be on the same page it would help

NOTE: any aircraft you see on the maps below are NOT the ones we need to target
