FRAME 3 - OPERATION BARBAROSSA -AXIS (Finnish)

Airmen,

We have been successfully pushing the Russians back.

Now, Adolf Hitler has decided to invade Russia.. apparently he saw how well we did against the Russians and concluded that the Russian forces are weak.

Called Operation Barbarossa, the Germans have moved to attack in a front over two thousand miles long. Their key objectives are Stalingrad, Moscow and Leningrad. Hitler has requested that we help in the invasion of Leningrad. We have declined to enter the city of Leningrad, however we will continue to push the Russians out of Finland. We can further weaken the enemy by cutting off their supply line and strangle their ability to fight.

Mission objectives.

Cut off enemy supply lines!

1 - We have over run the Murmansk Railway between Kondopoga and Rugozero. (DEFEND 38, 53,54,55) We must hold the line and cut off this vital enemy supply line. If we hold, we can intercept railroad shipments heading North. Likewise we have overrun the Russian rail lines East of Lake Ladoga (DEFEND 73) We must also hold these lines to cut off enemy supplies.

2 -Destroy any supply trains heading out of the supply depot at F71. Intelligence reports trains are heading both North and South out of this depot.
(There are 40 total train cars to destroy- can be straffed)

3 -Leningrad has been surrounded and cutoff. There is mass starvation. The Russians are low on moral. We must intercept any supplies being airlifted to Leningrad. Stop all cargo aircraft from dropping supplies over Leningrad F79 Russians must get 5 C-47's to drop supplies on Leningrad 79)

4 - Close the enemy's rear supply depots at F82 and F71.

5 - Defend Finnish rear supply depots: 29, 61

6 - Defend German tanks surrounding Leningrad - (32 total tanks)

Finns have 2 Russian rear supply depots to destroy 71, 82
Finns have 2 rear depots to defend, 29 and 61
Finns have 40 trains cars to destroy, 2 separate trains one N of 71, one S of 71
Finns must destroy 5 Russian C-47’s trying to supply Leningrad
Finns must defend 32 German tanks cutting of Leningrad

It would be nice for someone to step up and CO this frame.

There is a lot going on and we need to coordinate our squads to manage offense and defense as best we can.

I would prioritize according to the ease of acquiring points... Once we know how scoring goes...



Do we use resources to defend German tanks or not.... they will need to be bombed and are difficult to see from alt.

How many pilots to go after Trains? Trains start at F71 and travel at 20mph.... so they should be fairly easy to find given the time they travel along the railroad. Trains can be straffed, but we need to have enough ammo to destroy them. Maybe some bombs would help.

How many planes do we allocate to stop the c-47 supply transports from getting to Leningrad? Will the Russians have escort for them...most likely... C-47s are pretty tough..what aircraft will be best for shooting them down? 109 with cannons? They need to get 5 into Leningrad and they can keep trying all night until they achieve their goal. Or they could overwhelm us with one mass supply run...

Do we go after their supply depots? we will need to organize 2 bomb runs with escort.

How many to we allocate for defense?

which squad gets which roles.....

South train stops at the corner by f82.
North train goes all the way up the map.
Trains travel at 20 mph.
