26 January 1942 To all Imperial Air Forces Malaya On Jan 20, a convoy of troop ships carrying troops of the 96th Airfield Battalion departed Cam Rnh Bay, Indochina. They are assigned to bring airfields in Malaya into operation. Escorting them under the command of Rear-Admiral Shintaro Hahimoto, is his flagship the light cruiser Sendai, 6 Fubuki-class destroyers, 5 mine sweepers, 3 submarine chasers and 4 patrol boats. This morning at 7:45 am, 20 miles N of Endau (F34) two Royal Australian Air Force Lockheed Hudsons were observed over our Fleet. They turned South towards Singapore before they could be intercepted. We can assume that the enemy has spotted our navy and may send torpedo and dive bombers to attack the force. Our fleet has continued its course towards Endau (F34) and should be arriving shortly. Our amphibious, naval and aerial attack on Endau will commence upon arrival. Your orders: Protect this naval force to its destination at Endau (F34). You may attack and close any enemy field or base at your commander's discretion. Ganbatte Kudasai- Stay Strong

"On Jan 20, a convoy of troop ships carrying troops ..." and Sunday is supposed to be Jan 26th. So the Allies know the location of our ships, but we don't. Guess we have to guess how far our ships have sailed in 6 days. It is crazy that we are not given the start position of our ships at T=0. I PM'd kaceyj and nookyb two days ago asking where our ships will be, but still NO reply. Sheesh, they complain that we don't plan anything ahead. Well, I would CO a frame or two if we were given necessary info before hand. Guess we will just fly by the seat of our pants once again! <S> |

Updated orders state that our ships should be arriving at 34 shortly. Question is do we close 34 or just take out the guns and CAP it. fwiw dept. field 34 only has 4 guns, 2 x 20mm and 1 x 40 mm and one mg on far side of bridge. We should probably take those out asap except maybe the mg. Yes the bridge is tied to 34 and consists of 2 sections. There is also an 88mm at nearby F53 that will fire, as well as one of the 20mm that might. We could get some bombers to close 34 if we desire. <S> |

not reading your other posts..... hands over ears....eyes closed...la la la lala To: All Japanese Air Forces, Malaya Good news. We have acquired 6 A6m2 Zeroes. They are based at F24. You may roll all 6 Zero fighters to engage the enemy in Malaya. Good hunting! Rules: The Axis can select up to 6 players to fly the A6M2 Zero. Their plane setup for 3 lives is then: 2x A6M2 (counts as a Ki-43-Ic choice) 1x Ki-27b * These players must fly their A6M2 out of F24. * They can land the A6M2 at other airfields, but must then switch to a Ki-43-Ic for future sorties. (There are no spare A6M's at other fields). *The A6M2 pilots that had to switch to a Ki-43-Ic can fly an A6M2 again if they either land back at F24 to replane, or lose a life and start a new one. *Their 3rd life is a Ki-27b, able to fly out of any Axis airfield. |
