Actung!

The past few days, the allies have been bombing railways and key roadways in the areas inland of Normandy, France.
We now know why. Yesterday June 6 allied invasion forces landed at beaches in Normandy.
Enemy paratroopers have landed well inland the night before the landings and have caused quite a stir.
Command is still convinced that this is a diversion from the real invasion coming at the narrowest part of the channel at Calais.
Hitler has held back several Panzer divisions in anticipation of this supposed attack.
Meanwhile the allied forces are now pushing towards Cherbourg and inland to Carentan and Caen as well as Le Havre and along the Seine river to Rouen.
We must do what we can until high command is convinced that this is the real invasion and commits our Panzers.

Intel reports RAF Heavy bombers are based at F10 London and 8th AF Heavy bombers are based at Fl4 Cambridge.
If they take a straight route in they will come from the NE to continue their bombardment of our defenses and transportation lines.
Expect them to have fighter escort. Count on allied fighters to also be in the skies over Normandy and inland to cover their ground troops.
Enemy fighters are based at Fm20 Portsmouth and Fm6 Trowbridge.

Orders:

Hold fields Fm15, P46, V30, Fm14 and P42.
Our objectives are to keep the allies from capturing and holding, until the end of the frame, at least 4 of the 5 objectives.
If they close and capture any of these targets, you are ordered by all means necessary to retake them and hold them at all costs.

Das ist alles.

how does field capture... open... work in this series?

can we drop paratroopers on a friendly closed field to reopen? in the past there have been different options on capture and if recapture allowed

2 wingmen seems like a lot of ordinance for one pilot. but you guys know the numbers so I'll just trust ya :)

Good questions Cool.

Field close/capture options:

A. the same as Legacy. Close the field by destroying all targets...closing side only can drop troops to capture.

B. 'contested' grey field, meaning after it is closed, either side could drop troops to capture...

I kind of like B better, but not sure if they can set it up....I'll ask for clerification and post answer as soon as I hear.

I believe the powers that be are hardening the targets...meaning more bombs to destroy. Not sure how much they are, but yeah, if left unchanged the DR's could just fly Lancs across the front and pretty much close everything in one pass.
So hopefully they are making the targets much harder to destroy.

At least we have planes that have a chance to shoot down buffs in this series!

Post subject:  FRAME 1 AXIS SQUAD AIRBASE ASSIGNEMENTS

SQUAD BASES: squad must use any their own bases to start. Landing for refuel, rearm or damage is OK at ALL fields. If killed, launch from one of your own bases in new airframe.

Field closure/capture rule has been put in its own new Thread.
