Be aware, Map has been slightly revised. After going over the Log, coast watchers 44 and 49 were closed by axis in Frame 4. Therefore they are now in Japanese control.

Port 42 is in Allied territory Allied. Land based troops have stormed the Port and it will now is in Allied control.

Point-wise the axis has already lost unless we can somehow get almost 450 more points (details below)

FRAME - ALLIED - AXIS

1 - 152 - 63

2 - 122 - 74

3 - 169 - 43

4 - 247 - 23

TOTAL - 690 - 203

Analysis:

The allies have been closing their high value targets (airfields 10 pnts) much easier

than the axis has been able to kill their high value targets (bombers 5 pnts)

and with less effective heavy bombers, the axis have closed very few fields.

Axis have sunk 3 allied CV's (10 pnts ea) but the allies decided to hit shipping in Frame 4 and sunk 7 destroyers (4 pnts ea),

while the axis have sunk only 5 allied destroyers in the entire series.

The axis have been doing very well in fighter to fighter match-ups, however they have focused

too much in a defensive mode for the entire series and has hurt them point wise.

GENTS,
Point wise, we cant win this series, however..
Another idea is to possibly create a DRAW for the series.... We currently hold Airfield F37. If we can close 28 and 38 and Hold 37, we would win the entire Zone 3. Effectively cutting the Allied offensive in half. They would hold Zones 1,2, and 4,5. It would be difficult and would probably require the entire axis forces to make it happen...and its risky because we would NEED to hold 37. However, they may focus all of their might on Fields 2 and 3, and send only a small force to close 37. If they do that, we would stand a chance.

If it didnt work, we would be completely defeated, but we will also be defeated if we play this defensively and they close 2 and 3 on us. And that hasnt worked out too well for us this series. Just trying to think outside the box here....

Comments welcome!

Or

We strike Zone 2 and close Airfields, 40 and 45. The advantage to this over Zone 3 is we dont have to HOLD any fields. If we close 40 and 45, we WIN ZONE 2 effectively cutting the allies in half. We would need to hold 37 as long as it takes to close both 40 and 45, but it would not be critical to hold for the entire frame... The allies will be focused on attaking 2 and 3 in the West, so the further East we attack, the better for us.

Lets get some comments and discuss how we want to proceed.

If we decide to do this, we could request that our CV steam as quickly as possible to the combat zone to give us a place to land and rearm. But we need to give the Kacey time to plot the CV course so we need to decide fairly quickly.

Thanks all!

42 should be easy with large numbers as there is only 1 88 and 1 MG defending. all targets are close.

43 will be a little harder as it is a port with ships and docks 2 X 40mm and 2 X MG I believe.

should be doable with a maximum effort... some level bombers then fighters.

probably 1 b24 could close 42 but we dont have those.

Cool, we dont need to worry about the Ports. In order to 'TAKE" and Control a Zone, we only need to close and controll all of the airfields 'IN that Zone". If we can take one of these Zones, I would say we could call the Series a Draw.

Zone 1 is the easiest to close, but is probably too far away from 37 for us to be effective.

Zone 2 would be easier than Zone 3 ONLY because while both Zone 2 and 3 have 2 airfields to close, If the allies close 37 on us, we lose all possiblilty of controling Zone 3. We dont need to HOLD a field to gain control of ZONE 2. ( we only need to keep 37 open long enough to support our attack on the fields on ZONE 2)

make sense?

Unfortunately no matter what, once we lose 37, we have nowhere to land except 2 and 3 if they are still open and our CV's. So we will need to get our CV's within range to support our plan.

One more option. This might be the easiest to get 2 airfields closed as it keeps our attacking force together and both targets are very close.

We close 53 and 54 on Russell Islands and take Zone 1. I think they may be the easiest of the airfield options we have to close.
I can pretty much guarantee there will be no allied aircraft in the area. Most will be launching from 16 or 24 and the blacksheep are based at 28 and they cant teleport back to us.
We would have the fields closed and almost RTB before they could react.
We would need enough buffs to close both fields plus heavy escort to cleanup AND a contingent to protect F37 from closure until we can get back to 37.

If 37 closes, fighters could land or ditch on the CV wherever it is....I dont know what to do with the Buffs. Ditch 37 and lose a life? I dont like to make plans like that. They'd have to fly all the way back to 2 or 3 to not lose a life. So its imperative to keep 37 open if at all possible until our buffs rtb and can launch in fighters to scoot out of there...

Ideas? Like Zone 2 better? or this? Comments welcome.

Japan sunk every American carrier. How that doesn't win the Series is beyond me.
