Japanese command is protective this frame with two CV groups of 2 CVs and 6 DDs each steaming near Japanese controlled islands watching over the various ship convoys proceeding in the area.
Points are posted in summary below main PDF and this one.
CVs score good points but it is not necessary to go after them or even protect them. Some fields offer as many points especially if they have lots of parked a/c or bridge dock sections. Static shipping is easier to hit and sink as most AI shipping seems to go down best with torpedoes. Early losses in strike a/c will cripple a frame so its better to recce wait and see if you go after CV groups. Early attacks on closer bases with heavy cover may be wise until enemy CV groups can be located. Alternatively you can hit field and field and the farther static shipping targets to keep the enemy guessing and never even play the CV game. With each side having lots of fighters it would be wise to use them as much as possible to scout, CAP and confuse the enemy before sending in the precious strike a/c. In this series if you just send out strike a/c into the wild blue yonder without good coordinated escort you are just asking for trouble and a very long night.
Word of warning - get in a try the bases you will use. There are trees and other objects near the fields that are easy to collide with you do not stick to the taxiways and runways. If you are going to close a base make sure you check the static shipping and other attached objects first. Pre-game recce is always critical in new terrains that dont play like the MA ones.
Good Luck
