S3 Series

Best I can do without S6 stats:

23rd rolled 3 He111’s and 4 Fighters at T=0 The buffs formed up with the 4th Buff elements early on. Our fighters launched further South and rendezvoused with the bomb stream as well. Orders called for us to drop on 116 and 117. We lost one bomber just short of target. Through 8/10’s cloud we had minimal success. We lost our other two bombers on their return to base. Fighters had various engagements escorting.

2nd Sortie saw 2 bombers launch and 4 fighters and a gv. We came in at 12k this time. I believe we hit 2 fields, don’t remember which now, with good results. Also, one 23rd gv driver managed to do much damage and captured 3 posts during the remainder of the frame.

3rd sortie launched 6 fighters for CAP at the front as requested. Searched for high bandits awhile then some of us went low and engaged while some stayed high and found a couple high ones. Downed a couple more bogies.

30+ ground objects/vehicles destroyed ( 13 or so by our gv driver )

Twould appear that airstrikes previous to any kind of ground assault work really really well.
Whether it would be a jabo airstrike or level bombing that works best remains to be seen.
for future referance, decide upon the posts etc and send in airstrike with top cover with your gv's waiting a mile or so off to roll in upon completion of airstrike.
