Japanese HQ tasked the bombers with knocking out all coastal watcher facilities utilized by the Americans. Before the night was over, all 12 radar installations had been destroyed. It is our understanding that they will not be reconstructed during the next five weeks. Two of our bomber pilots returned to F25, but were ordered to take A6Ms to scout for enemy shipping on the way to F82 to join our bombers there for the next mission. However, they came under attack and had to remain in the fighters the rest of the night. Several of our bombers criss-crossed the Coral Sea searching for enemy ships, but found none. Later, we picked up intell stating that enemy ships had been spotted leaving Australia heading to resupply the Allied efforts. All of our bombers were out of position to intercept the ships. Japanese command was very pleased with our mission to blind the enemy. Only one bomber was lost during operations due to pilot error in the mountainous terrain while trying to fly low level. Well done raiders, ya brought the boom. To bad we couldn't have found ships earlier, but it wasn't because we weren't looking. Yes, if I read the rules right anything that gets closed stays closed. |
