4FG launched with 15 + 1 (Wildbill), 1st sortie: 7 in 190's the rest in Do17s. Hit shipping near 101 and 104. Buffs retreated when ordered. 2nd sortie: 6 Buffs the rest in 190. again striking shipping with ftr cover. 3rd sortie repeat but heavier RAF cover took down several of our BUFFs. 4th sortie Buffs delayed attack so ftrs could clear the area, they did so with approximately 10 kills. Overal estimate 10 ships sunk and 10+ RAF ftr kills. bombr-

The 4th did an excellent job following the plan and the changes I had to make on the fly. I was really impressed that the fighters took advantage of the low spits found initially and used that advantage to keep them busy for quite some time. It seems not one of you were hell bent on the "i gotta get a kill" mentality, which can be hard to do at times. Excellent! That really gave us time to plaster the shipping even more. Following sorties were spot on as well.
