Post subject:  A Bridge Too Far Frame III CO checking in

As of the time I am writing this, the Frame II tallies have not been posted. (I don't envy Phoenix on this one!)

Personally, I have been enjoying this series more than I anticipated. Hunting buffs while dodging the escort has been quite fun!

I was wondering the feelings on holding as a group to lift in the FW190F8 at the end and go on a mass jabo run. I flew over the targeted field in an A8 pursuing B-25's while the jabo strikers were hitting the target. Without posted numbers, I don't know how effective it was.

This is the last frame with the same set of aircraft and I don't see a serious reason to change what we have done the last two frames. (Pursue bombers, avoid escort, and finish up with a joint jabo run.)

Post any ideas or questions,

Thanks for taking a frame! We still need frame 4 and 5 CO's.

A Group strike towards the end of the frame is appealing. Somethings I'd consider, in case you haven't:
You wouldn't want most everyone in tower and then launch at one time. It would be a giveaway. I would launch the three groups in intervals separated by some time. Have the first ones climb, throttle back and make it look like something else while others are grabbing.

Downside is that the allies will have free range over our territory. The last 45 minutes is usually the time they send in a few to clean up/close to get the extra points.

fwiw - The ships/bridges are easy targets/points with bombs. Keep moving as there are multiple ack guns there that will tag you if you fly straight and level. The ships strafe down in one good pass with the Fw's cannon.

split has it down. We are pretty much even on numbers so defending until your guys are forced to fly the third ac type(FW190F8) is good. Then just hit the high profile targets like boats and aircraft and isolated airfields. The Allies will get smarter or better bombers in frames 4-5 so it wont be as easy. Get a lead and hold onto it.
