Greetings Folks,

Frame 1 - A Bridge Too Far

Welcome back for another S3 Season!

There are two new game ideas being implemented this season.
1- 1 life per aircraft type (3 per frame). The guys that stay alive can continue to fly their chosen rides while those that die or loose an aircraft must move onto another type.
2- To help recruit new players the S3 will be open to everyone on Sunday.

Things to keep in mind:
Make sure you do an update before showing up to fly, it is mandatory jabo says. Spread the word.

Sorry for the long orders, but there are a myriad of things needing covered.

Frame 1 of this series begs us to be defensive but reactive to the radar picture.
I will be doing GCI the first part of the frame and will find a replacement GCI at some point.

Everyone will have to bring their A-game…..There will be around 32 allied fighters in the air vs our 26. Plus 2 NightStalkers in Fighter/Bombers (tiffies/Mossie/P47) and 6 Medium bombers (B25s). Medium bombers get 3 ai aircraft. BOMBERS are where our points are this frame. Ai bombers are worth less points but there may be lots of them. Watch the stinger 50's in some of the B25's.

Both sides have excellent radar coverage.
The spit 14 will be a handfull, keep that in mind.
I had no time for fancy graphics, sorry.

Basing/initial airframe:

AE - 2 steps L26, 1 step M23 Bf109G14 100 Fuel, Drop Tank Disrupt Bomber escort.
Initial hard climb to the river S of City29 (3,5,2 area). Form up.
Patrol E/W from T34 to 3,5,2 area North of the 5 line until ordered differently. Grab appropriate altitude.

LF6 - 1 step T49, 1 step T34 Fw190A8 100 Fuel , Drop Tank Buff Killing Duty
Climb hard and form up at 4,5,2. Patrol from T34 to 4,4,8 area. Avoid fighters if possible.
Grab appropriate altitude. You will be vectored to action, most likely buffs.

23rd - 1 step T48 Fw190A8 100 Fuel, Drop Tank Buff Killing Duty
Climb hard to 4,5,2. Keep LF6 in sight if possible patrolling from T34 to 4,4,8 area. Avoid fighters if possible.
Grab appropriate altitude. You will be vectored to action, most likely buffs.

The Allies will most definitely be sending fighter sweeps before their medium bombers come in. Unless we have superior numbers I will vector all away from such sweeps. We cannot afford to lose any a/c unnecessarily.

LF6 + 23rd - Watch for LOW/NOE raiders when you can, especially at the beginning of the frame while climbing. The front fields are close to each other, easy pickings for quick low level tiffies/mossies. Just keep your 190’s fast if you engage low.

If you die, please do not log, you have two more lives, one for each airframe available to us.
Pilots losing the 109, please roll the Fw190A8, pilots losing the 190 please roll a 109G14. I assume you will have to roll the new airframe from the last field you took off from. Announce your t/o with a new airframe, you may be told to rejoin your squad or join the similar (109 or 190) group of airframes.

IF/WHEN a pilot is down to his last airframe (190F8) grab the drop tanks and 250kg bomb option(must take ordinance). You can jettison one tank once at a safe altitude to drop it. Climb to T34 area and get a minimum altitude of 15k. You may or may not be asked to divebomb a target. You probably will be asked to jettison bomb and engage buffs or fighters.

Please bear in mind: This series will be very very fluid as airframes flown change on both sides as losses mount. Gonna be a strange night to be sure. Be patient with me as I make my decisions!
Questions/mistakes, feel free to speak up.
Good Luck!

Great write-up split.

Just remember you can switch aircraft types during a frame but once you die(bail, ditch or KIA) in an aircraft type you cannot use that again during the frame. The FW190F8 is required to carry ord but if the situation warrants it you can drop ord and fight normally. Due to our low numbers this year the play will be a bit different. Remember though if you do not die you will earn more individual points that is added to your side. So going in and loosing all three lives will hurt your side. I expect to direct those new players to login to the side with the biggest shortfall in numbers. The score of these new players will not be assigned to either side. I am hopeful that we will at least win a few over to our little sandbox.

What? Tainan Kokutai can't read the same Lf6 forums I posted to?

Is this still about the whole sake thing? I told you that I didn't know that was yours! Falling on your own sword to apologize is your thing. ;)
