~S~ Luftfleigers! Frame 5 open for opinions. I need to look at the summary again, but I think we are close in points. We need to have a large points frame, while making this the RAF's lowest point frame. Fighting over our coast will be an advantage...all our fields are intact, while the RAF must fly from rear fields. More on the way... |

I'll be out of town with limited access this weekend. What about a massive T+0 AI & Human strike on F1 with full fighter sweep. Catch them before the majority can get there from the rear fields? how many can they base at F1 to start? (per rules everyone could use the field after initial takeoff.) Just a thought. |

once an airfield is closed it remains closed so RAF shoulf not be able to launch from F1. Hitting it is a waste of time if we can kill a large number of RN ships instead. |

Shipping is worth the most points, by far, and should be priority. F1 is open for operations per a Jabo post (will find it...I think its in the summary). |

Horrido! I like the boats. The DR folks got on a streak Sunday and we lowly buffs sunk a buncha big boats. Once the Allies realize we are there, and sinking boats, it's a giant magnet for them. I do not unnerstan why it isn't a great oppo for our own lites to exploit the situation. We know they must come from the west and we have great DAR. The Allies will not attack our coastal bases. A good diversion with our drones is worth the effort, IMHO. - Our drones can go from south and then northwest to London. Get the Allies off their bases and hunting our drones. We got more points sinking boats than they did shooting down our helpless critters. - We need brave lites to scout for the LW!! They can get to south and north shipping lanes early and really help all the rest of the Axis units. If none volunteer, Gums will take a lightly loaded 88 and do it. We have time to coordinate, so let's use it, ya think? Herr Gums sends... |

That is along the lines I was thinking... Boats as primaries Diversions with AIs to the far north Two Rottes to scout for English ships in the identified zone Lots of 109s to pounce on any dots flying from North to South |

OK - "F1 is operational for the RAF and several British ships are now operating from there." JABO My Opinion, he changed the rules to favor the Allies, BS. But flying from F1 isn't easy so remains to be seen if the RAF will try. In the mean time we should sink and RN ships found there. |

F1 was never closed so its operational. As you know its not so easy flying from there with no other airfields around to support. If anything the final frame is in the Luftwaffe's favour, they have one airfield near the Channel Straits and have to protect their fleets on either end. Something they didnt do until late in the game in Frame 4. For the AI to attack Dover or the AI shipping you will need the Stukas. They will dive down and hit many targets. Much better than the Ju88s at altitude which just carpet bomb usually short of the targets. Stukas with torps may be the best option against shipping. But many brave Stuka crews will die because the flak from AI ships is pretty wicked down low. |

So here's the prelim...open for discussions. Strike Gruppe launch from F55 or F6 for West Flotilla AE - Launch from F55 or F6 and quick-roll x 2 for advance scout / close support of Strike Gruppe. (test run 109 from F55 to 8.6.x was 08:30s). Once flotilla found CAP and support Strike Gruppe ingress. Finding the ships quickly and getting the Strike guys to target is key. I think we can beat the RAF to the Royal Navy and be on egress before threats can fly from the North. 4FG - Launch 109s from F9 for suppression of RAF at Dover Lf6 - Launch 109s from F54 for suppression of RAF at Dover The Fighter Gruppes will also protect the northern flank of the Strike Gruppe and AE AND cover the Evacuation Route to Germany shipping lanes. Im thinking that we send Lf6 and 4th to Dover to suppress spawning aircraft. If the RAF only roll from other fields in the North, then we intercept their planes NW of Dover and away from our vulnerable western Strikers. We want to keep the RAF feet dry, away from the Channel to point mine the shipping. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mid - Late frame I am seeing the ships at Dover and those in the North. We would need to get some advanced scouts out here - a good side mission for Lf6/4fg over Dover. If the Western flotilla respawns throughout the night, then this should be our primary target. But if the ships dry up, then we move strike ops to Dover or North. |

Observations: 1. Based on the Summary, we are 28 points behind. The allies may concentrate on defense expecting us to bring it to them. 2. F1 is operational. We have lost the two radars just south of F1 while the allies have gained them (Jabo please confirm). They can now see all of our bases while we can only see to a line running R78-F38-R63-9.9.9.5. Our successful strike on the Southern Group last week was due in part to our Buffs and their escort being able to transition from north to south OFF radar before cutting west at F55. Recommendation: The plan as stated is a good one. It should work. For myself, I'd feel more comfortable if we blinded them in the center with a major T+0 Hit and Run attack on F1, the ships there, and the two radars. The radars are the key to giving us an even playing field. If they remain up, they see everything we do. At worst, we score points.....possibly enough to make up our deficiency. At best, we blind them, score points, lose no one, and create an even playing field which will force them to attack or lose the scenario. It will enable us to reposition forces at will OFF their radar. S! Crommm American Eagles |
