The 4FG launched at T+0 with 4 Squadrons, 14 pilots heading North to gain attitude and turning West at the 8 line with Bombr providing GCI. The Group interceped Allied bombers with their fighter cover heading toward the 8.8. Several bombers were downed as the two groups merged heading toward F6/18. The 4th lost 5 aircraft but downed most of the inbound enemy bombers to the point the remaining aborted and their fighter cover left to concentrate on other areas. At T+45 several pilots recovered to F18 rearming and re-launching. After the remaining 4th pilots (~7-8 pilots) recovered and launched e/a were intercepted within 15mi of F18. These e/a were quickly dealt with but at a cost of an additional 2 pilots leaving the 4th with approximately 5. The 5 kept the e/a at bay until we lost 1 additional pilot and Robert took over GCI at T+90. The last hour or so of the frame the 2 remaining 4th men (nooky and victim) capped 18. All was clear and quiet until the last half our of the frame. 1 hurricane buzzed the field. We went down to attack and after a few minutes of dogfighting and getting hits on the hurricane we were jumped by a swarm of nme. We jinked our way back to base, landed and once the skies were clear were relaunched. Cons were reported NW of 18. We joined several friendlies in a dogfight at that position again getting hits on nme planes with no kills. Low on ammo and deciding it was better to live through the frame, we rtb'd and stood down. It was clear that the Allid objective was to close 6 then 18 in the first frame, which they failed to do. bombr-

Horrido!

Bomer has the same opinion as Gums WRT Allied intent.

Interesting, but they waited until last part of the frame to vulche F6 and F18, as our buffs found out when on final approach.

I was surprised at the 4th losses.

Herr Gums sends...
