Mission was simple, deny the enemy the use of the southern airfields for the rest of the series. Gums, Gundoc, Gofly, Muskyz & myself took Ju88s armed to the teeth. Coordination with the AE went well (for the most part) bombers arrived at the rally point strung out, but we had time to form up as the fighters got there a few minutes later. Run to target was east then south east to align with the runway of the medium field. At this point we sent our AI bombers down south and we continued to target. Unfortunately I did not convey our intent well enough and confused our escort a great deal. But in the end it all worked out as we made repeated attacks at F26, F27 and G10 closing all 3 fields. on the way out of the area we decided to try to use our remaining ordinance on whatever tanks we could find at fields 8 & 9. Our move worked out and we were able to kill many ground vehicles with only a few losses to stragglers. Will see the totals on the 6S site. Good frame, was plenty of flexibility. <S> |
