We need volunteers from all squads to fly strike planes for the attack on Midway. I have volunteered Sleep to lead the strikers. Ideally, I want to muster 10 players (or more) to fly Kates or Vals. Extra ration of Sake when you return and a hearty ~S~ should you die. |

Without some more specific testing ( which I intend to do) I would plan on going in as near 25 k as we can get, good alt for escorting zekes, but not so hot for f4's or mayhap the buffalo |

Sounds good, Sleep. How quickly can you get to alt in the Kate? Reason I ask is that I would like to have the atoll attack underway BEFORE T+45 - the time at which Allies can launch their Carrier planes. Of course, I would expect Jabo to allow them to roll once the attack begins. Also - going at alt will help with survivability. I have the target maps in the other thread. The bearing of those maps are 360*. I would like to know your planned attack route over the islands, then we can extrapolate out the route and even the best starting point...which then helps with Kaga positioning. |

rolled with 60 % fuel, 800kg bomb. climb rate was good to 10 k, then dropped off and again at 15 k but I reached about 21 k before climb rate dropped below 400fpm..took about 20 min to get that high and covered about 70 mile....dropped level from 21 k and headed home....landed still with about 30 min of gas left. IN the Ta I flew from cv near t 33 straight north, turned right into field 17 and then home again. This help? |

May want to check if 3 - 250kg may be better with your AI. They would at least scatter more bombs. Remember AI destroyed structures dont appear in the log so its best to do some after attack recce if you want to lead a second attack. CM will visual count to determine points after the frame. |

I find no loadout for val or Kate that has 3 250 kg bomb....Kate can carry 2 250 kg but not 3. I did get a better climb rate for a while longer and got it horsed up to 23 k before bomb drop and managed 25 k after release, but not sure about the tradeoff of 2 250's for 1 800bombloadout in total.......that's 500kg in bombs vs 800 kg in bombs. The only other thing to look at ( if I may jabo) is download the objpoints files and weapons to look at numbers to see if single 250's are enough for this or that groundtarget. |
