I want to keep this frame simple. Climb, search and destroy fighters or bombers if you feel lucky. Choose your plane type and I will be GCI for the event. Hit the bombers from the front. It seems that otto is crazy. If the bombers break the 100 foot span for their AI's, I don't want you guys getting sucked into them. 1. KoN: Amiens (F122) - 2. Luftflotte 6: Melville (F95) - 3. 475: Abbeville (F111) - 4. American Eagles: Ligescourt (F80) - 109-G14 Good luck! |

Besea, the G14 is the superior fighter up high. Don't yank and bank, and you will find that you can out maneuver the poney without having to give up the altitude. The G14 stays up better than the poney... use that!! |

What? No 110 G2?? With some single engine fighter support the buffs would be toast if you attack smart, 100 ft or not. |

Kapsyl, The 110G worked really good on the bombers and if you hadn't flown it already I would say go for it. |

-S Hawk Orders for the 475th received and understood. Our turn out will be extremely low numbers tomorrow night. Those of us there will be flying the Bf-110 G2 with pods and drop tanks, and will do what we can to hit the bombers. I know that CO duties make it hard to provide great GCI for everyone, but if we are to have any success with our bomber killers, (110's or 190-A8's) we will need to be in a position to meet them nose to nose. I don't anticipate having enough squad mates present tomorrow night to have our own GCI, so we hope you will be able to position us so that we can have a successful HO merge, well timed to arrive just after the strippers scatter the escorts. We will not be dogfighting, thus our success will depend on the ability of the fighters to create an opportunity, and for us to be in the right place when they provide that opportunity. I am hopeful that by frame 5, most of our squad mates will have burned through their available vacation days and mad money, and will be forced to return to the daily grind of "normal life". Actually, I wouldn't wish that on anyone, and am happy that they guys I fly with understand and appreciate strength of family We will be few, but we will do our best to make the enemy pee their pants (either by fear, or by laughter). |

Dazed we flew the 110's W/pods in frame 2 ..used slashing attacked 4 o'clock to 9 o'clock..the cannon pods work fabulously..we flowed Kapsyl advise for attack runs ..Kapsyl was able to take down 4 buffs in 2 passes that way . we found our selves intercepting buffs at TGT. where escorts was not around.. they been derailed . hopefully AE's can strip escort as good as you guys did.. well give our best <S> |

Front quarter attacks gives you little time to put lead in the air and you need to reverse to do another attack and you might not have the time. My preferred attack is not the HO (contrary to common belief ) but the high 4 or 8 oclock. Come in fast, level out the dive slightly above the formation (I guess they will be keeping them nice and tight) and open up at d9-d8 (In the 110 since it got all the guns on the centerline ) and dont let go of the trigger. Dont aim at a specifik point but aim for the front of formation and walk the fire across the formation. Dont let your heading merge with the formations heading, that makes you an easier target for the gunners, but pass the tail of the formation at an angle and get out of gunners firing range. Use your speed to gain a little alt, turn in and repeat. In a 110 you have the ammo to make 2 or possibly 3 passes then you dive for home. I did this to a 4 buff diamond formation in frame 2, none of them got to to rtb. |

Our famous master blaster kapsyl petitioned Goering to bring the 110G2 out of the night and put it against the heavies. Anyone can fly the penalty plane(Bf110G2) in a frame without effecting their squad rides. Just no switching between aircraft types during a frame. |

Thanks all. Besea - Dobs did a great job of getting our "mindset" in the right place regarding the G14. I think that the Allies may have been surprised to find that we wanted to fight "up there" and were not quick to point downhill. Get your bandit below the buff group, then get back up and find another one to push down. It gets tempting to stay on a bandit for kill, but that wasn't our job. Once we saw that escorts were all pretty well stripped away, we started going fangs out and pursued the bad guys below the "best altitude" of the G14. Good luck to you! Kapsyl, thank you for your input, and I will post your method up for our guys to read on our forums, (well.. we have a couple of guys that can read a few words here or there) |
