Shall we just attack shipping?

Gotta be easier to kill a boat then a bomber....

Well we tried for 2 frames with zero results.

My guys dropped bombs at 2k and were blown up. You can't strafe freighters and DDs. I think it's a waste of time hitting them.

The AE did ok with the 110 and the 475th and others stripping the escorts. It would be nice if we could do that
again.

Rock's right about the 110 with cannon pods. It gets to 32k with no problem vs 28k for the FW190A4. The 110 doesn't even need to use its WEP on climb and fuel is not a problem. From 32k you can trade 500ft/min for speed to get into position for the attack. Kapsyl recommends slashing attacks from 8:00 or 4:00 o'clock. Two quick slashes and OUT. Regroup elsewhere if time available. The key is escort stripping or the 110's will be toast especially if P51's are there again.

Having a dedicated flight GCI who knows where the enemy DAR circles are will give you an edge. The side CO can only do so much. The allied attack was within allied DAR for nearly 90% of its operations. We need to stay off their screens and pounce only with advantage. Expect them to conduct similar ops for the remaining frames. They won't stray from what works.

While the ships score well, they have virtually all the advantages to protect them....within their DAR, only one target to attack (Dover), and we can't operate over England.

190A4 got to 32k no issues for us....I think the issue is in how the new throttle system is setup for fuel consumption purposes.

100% throttle is max cruise speed
Boost 1 is Mil.
Boost 2 is Climb power.
Boost 3 is What we used to call WEP.

Boost 2 is what we use....temp to 85. Out of Boost till 75, then cycle. You can go longer than that...especially early on, but as you get near the bad guys you want your engine as close to 75 degrees as possible to maximize your Boost 3 time.

But, at least against the B-25J, the guns didn't do much.

Good luck in the next frame...high % that I will not make it due to coming back from vacation on that day.

Good points all Crommm.

Knights may still have to use the A4. Not sure since we did use the 110 for one frame. Did that replace having to use the A4?
Will have to find out.
Sounds like A4 a better performer than the A8. Thank got that one is out of the way for us.
We also have to use the 109G6 still.

Whatever the task, we'll accommodate.

I suggest sending some experten towards those Bitch-Ass* players who unmolestedly credited the Allies with 70+ V1 kills.

Come on Sakai, you have to love the fact that we finally have a series where that squadron has a "happy place" where they can garner points, and receive their participation trophy without having to worry about engaging in combat against human opponents. At least their long history of losing the fewest # of pilots will not be tarnished at all ;)

Seeing how the series seems to be at an impasse, I want to have the orders up by Thursday before I take off for a couple of days.

Hitting ships is a no go and it seems that bombers ottos are to powerful. Plus the fact that it appears the bombers brother the 100' min for the AI's. So maybe we should just forget the bombers and let you fighter guys have your day shooting down fighters.

I don't think we can escort the V1's and down any fighters. This would be a Jabo ruling. Maybe that would be fun to do.

Besea's idea during his frame is, (my opinion of course), the basis for everything we do for frame 4&5. I don't think we need a "brilliant plan" as much as we need EXPERT GCI. Besea's plan was solid, and uncomplicated. Simple, basic, but well coordinated. The key is to have EXCELLENT GCI, so that we don't feed the Allied grinder squad by squad. GCI needs to try to have bomber killers about 1 minute away from the initial point of merge with the bomb group, so that the strippers can tangle up the escorts, and bomber killers enter the fray with HO attacks rather than from the rear quarters. Bomber killers are in/out very quickly giving the escorts little opportunity to pursue unless they leave the bombers naked. Bomber killers regroup, and plan on another round of HO's as the bombers egress from their runs - GCI having to be on top of the game here as well!

The whole otto setting thing can be debated to infinity after the series is complete. What we need to do is figure out how to make the best of what we've got. HO passes on bombers only. Buff Tough doesn't affect PK's, and there should be less otto from the front, and bomber killers are quickly out of the otto killing zone during the HO passes.

On a side note to you Hawk - you and I often have vastly different opinions on what's best for the game. I can deal with disagreements - they don't bother me a bit. What I dislike is your decision to drop from the S3. Differences aside, please know that your abilities to "get the job done" in the S3 is, and has been very much respected. I Seriously hope that you guys change your mind. No kumbaya moment intended here, just a statement of facts.
