We will finish off 220 and hit 227 shipping that is docked/moored with JU88's at alt and from various radials from Malta. There will be one sortie for the buffs.

Intelligence gathered from Jabo: The Eastern shipping was destroyed and won't be active this frame. The Western shipping will be active and start a lot closer to Malta. I suspect the Allied will send at least a few fighters to cover the western shipping as we racked up some good points last frame hitting the convoys.

F220 is mostly down. I don't have a damage report on it, but did look at it monday before it was reset. I believe that 3 or 4 guns are up. Most of the tents and the center of 220 is destroyed. A few buildings remain.

Port F227: There are 6 destroyers, 10 freighters and 11 small boats as targets, which is a lot of points. Collateral damage to building/docks are a plus.

Since I only can estimate how many bombers will be available I will probably need a few more folks to fly bombers to get the minimum 16 I'd like to have in the air. 4 groups with a minimum of 3-4 buffs each if possible. All groups with their own escorts of at least 6.

Buff group 1: The 23rd will put up one bomber that leaves us at around 5 fighters. TK and 23rd to cover 1? UMM, 1? NS, and 1 23rd as a buff group.
Buff group 2: I'd like to know if there are 3 brave JG51 pilots willing to fly the JU88s? You would provide your own cover if enough pilots show.
Buff group 3,4: If enough DRs show they will be split into two groups for the 352 to cover...if so, 352nd needs to be split in two to cover the 2 groups of bombers.

Upside: they can't big wing a single large buff formation because there isn't one. They have to decide what to do on the fly. We can run like hell after the drop.
Downside: If the allies don't break up into smaller flights, They may well hit one group very hard and others may have somewhat of a cake walk.

Questions:
Which is a better load out, 4 x 500kgs or 8 x 250kgs for the mission?
Post your thoughts...good or bad.

Sorry 4th,
What can I say, it was 2 am my time when I typed it up. Was wanting to get something posted early. Nothing worse than late discussion/orders... gotta get to work now.
What a newbie mistake. Will fix it tonight...

I could be wrong but I don't think the Ju88 can carry 8 X 250kg
I think it's options are (from memory)

4 X 250kg
4 X 250kg + 10 X 50kg

4 X 500kg
4 X 500kg + 10 X 50kg

The HE111 can do 8 X 250kg

just to make sure we are all on the same page, static ships (no matter the type) are 2 pts each.

Horrido!

Looks like NS and Nomads can be Buff 1 grope for a 4 count and prolly 5 if we get same as frame 2.
That should free up a lite for escort/sweep chores huh?

Nomads and NS work very well together due to experience doing it.

The ack sites at the port and field should be designated tgts to help egress. Nothin
much for ingress, but then, war is hell.

Was torn between He-111 and Ju88's, thus the question. I would think 500kgs on static shipping would be best, but don't know. I ran a test with Ju88/500kgs and seemed to work good on the ships.
27 ships @ 2 points each...lots of possible points.

Horrido!

Took a look at the tgts after loggin into S3 and then offline to use cmeye.

Apparently, the rebuild script took effect and all the stuff I could see was up and bright and shiny. So that means we have no valid BDA from our strikes last SUnday night.

We do not know what is up., what is dust, what is anything. Gotta do something about this if we wish to keep buff pukes flying in this sim, ya think? We do not know where to allocate our best buffers and on what targets. The situation basically sucks.
+++++++

From this old mudbeater's perspective, the port boats look like the best return on the dollar. With some decent run-in lines, we could also drop some eggs on F220 tgts if we only knew which ones were still up. But we don't, dammit. Then we are not sure about how many tgts have to go down to get a "field closed" message/ruling.

I shall do some runs from various courses to maximize our BDA.

I also highly recommend that our Frame CO tell JABO go knock off all the "clues". Let both sides use the tools they have and skills they have and the rest will play out.
