First off thanks to everyone for the great work tonight on a short notice set of orders. I guess this whole FEBA kinda had everyone scratching their heads on what was exactly suppose to happen. Along with not having the numbers for pilots and trying to cover a 40 mile grid map is not an easy thing to do. Again thanks for making it easy for me to be in the chair <S>

So the DRs/Nomads/NS hit TAC 43 on the first run and leveled the main spawn point but had to go back for the "FORT" (which I didnt know about until Jabo told me about it. I had the DRs hit TAC43 because of what I believed would of benefited us, maybe I misread what Jabo was trying to say.

Stukas and 110s may be best taking out enemy tanks. The enemy will have a very had time defeating your tanks as they have light MGs and no bomb capable fighters. Luftwaffe bombers are best hitting tac structures where they are clumped together giving your tanks a better chance of closing the extended spawn points. The AI will not capture anything immediately so multiple sorties may be required. This event is very much a command in progress with flexibility important, hitting when the enemy is down and when he is somewhere else.

Fighters did great on the 2 runs at 43 clearing the way for the He111s. I did request the Paratroopers be launched at T+110 and they were launched at T+120. Now would that 10 minutes could have changed an outcome for 43? Who knows. I was in tower at TAC 50 watching the Ai tanks there battling. Seems that the Allied tanks were targeting buildings as our tanks were targeting GVs. But up at TAC 43 I saw no reports of our tanks destroying anything at the North and South spawn points.

TAC 50: That was sure a vulche fest on the Ai GVs down there where Hawker guns were taking out all the halftracks, and once they died they would respawn and repeat. Im sure those points are going to hurts us. We just didn't have enough assets to send down there to stop the killings. Myself and gooner late in the frame tried to get down there and kill some B25s or Hawkers but it did no good.

By this time our JUs were launched to fly to 43 to support the Blitz but they all got wiped out free pickings. LF6 was down to 1 pilot, 475th had 4 pilots and the Bombers just dropped on TAC 46 Proper. Bombers were upping again for a NOE raid to 46 again to hit the NE spawn and SE spawn. Our JUs were about 5 miles out of 43 and got decimated, so no support for 43's battle. I was told the 23rd stood down because they wouldn't have reached them in time and all remaining fighters were low ammo/parts/fuel.

By all means PLEASE give thoughts on this for future frame COs to think about on the would ofs could ofs and should ofs.

When the Paratroopers made their run in most of the 23rd were down to 15 mins or so fuel, even less if we had to use any boost. Going with the troops was not an option. Once we were rtb'd there was not enough time to actually make it back there to save the troop carriers.
IF the paratroops had been launched as per your orders, we would have had the fuel to escort them.
As mentioned by jabo, I believe, timing is going to be one of the most important factors this series.

Appreciate you picking up the frame

Points? Didn't know there were points, none listed anywhere that I could find. ;)

Understood split, but I wasn't aware of that decision. If it was mentioned in the buffer I may have missed it. If I was made aware of your fuel state I probably would of have had you reload and then sent you guys down to TAC 50 to try and stop them from vulche festivities on the GVs.

With as many places for us to recycle close to everything, I don't see how fuel could be a real problem unless nobody worries about fuel status until it's time to be involved in a fight. 475th must have recycled 4-5 times, mainly for ammo rather than fuel, but I guess we were busy fighting while others were busy flying? Good job staying alive I guess.

Sorry juggo, thought you caught that. When the raiders were off the primary target and headed for the alternate, the 23rd was forced home at critical fuel levels. When we landed we had 3-5min of fuel left (at cruise setting), ie: @10gallons. We had passed the troops on our RTB and there just wasn't enough time to recycle and come back up to help them. Apologizes....

Horrido!

The buffers have no problems with the support we had for the first "learning" frame. Our problem was not understanding all the things that had to be destroyed or the effects of acks and such upon the paras or .....

In short, we are not sure of exactly what we have to do. Heh heh.

The Muzz map with all the "remote" SP's may become key. Secondly, the ack goes down easily as with all S3's since the Earth was cooling and Beaver and Gums were still in diapers.

So who determines where our tanks are going in order that we buff/striker folks can help?

This was from Jabo in the general forum:

Quote:
FEBA works, its just hard to predict where it will attack thus the use of a set routine at 43-51 for planning purposes. For the next frames we will just have to locate the FEBA, attack in support and adjust on the fly much like CAS in the early days of WW2.

Flew some recce and those small fields I pointed out north of 43 are not stupid hard, and remote SP's are easy to spot.

There's a bridge north of 51 and our armor should be able to zip across and extend the FEBA west with CAS and CAP support.

So who is determining the route we take with our Blitz?

F43 is maybe the hardest field to deal with due to many remote tgts and such. If you do not have the Muzz map with all the connections then you are SOL.

Working the tgts, but my latest map showed 43 in Gold hands, otherwise, I suggest we by pass it to the north and then some sout to Paris.

I used the Muzz map for the series, but he has had the basic map for a long time that shows all the remote spawn points.

The Donkey words I decoded are that we do not have control of our armor and it goes wherever the Godz wish. Up to us and them to figure out where. So unless it comes down to tank vs tank, maybe ensuring air superiority over our advancing armor/grunt columns is required.

As I noted, the F43 and F51 tgts are the toughest nuts to crack, and I am at a lost about how to do it. Would prefer we use the MacArthur tactic of bypassing the forts and hitting other stuff closer to the goal line.
