If we going for the buffs. Personally I would love the J2M..not the ki-84 and the week guns it possess with no roll rate..I planned on putting out scouts to find buff formation long before they come into our Dar range..With it being able to get to 40k.. should be able to sit on top of them.. besides I thought it was up to squad C.O. to determine what ride they need to accomplish the mission frame C.0.. tasks them to do..
Besea,
If you are tired of losing, forget scouting for bombers and stick with the pack. We need to ALL be in one big mass of fighters.
4FG has been practicing in F4U's with drop tanks (I killed some last night in the ACE, prompting a request from them to leave the arena because they were practicing.I was my usual charming self and said I was practicing too and that dying was good practice for them)
352nd is practicing in P-51's. I imagine 23rd will be in the same ride.
I expect an early strike against our radars and then ALL allied fighters will be sweeping/protecting the bombers coming in between T+ 45 (earliest arrival) and as late as T+100 if they take the time to climb to 30,000 feet.
If we are all in one big pile we can destroy the US fighter groups one by one as they try to sweep us.
THE US WILL LIKELY HAVE RADAR ALMOST TO OUR COAST FROM THEIR CV. THEY WILL BE ABLE TO AVOID YOUR SCOUTS OR KILL THEM.
NONE of the Japanese aircraft can outrun ANY of the US aircraft except the J2M up VERY HIGH. Scouts will be chased down and killed by superior numbers.
Stick with the pack. The bombers are coming to Japan. They are unlikely to do significant damage. Let them come to us all flying together. Numbers at the point of contact is ALL that matters.

I think Field 80 is a typo for 475FG/127
I think Field 60 based upon the map labeling.
