OPERATION SHY MONKEY

The intention of the frame was to close as many fields as possible with minimal aircraft losses and few--if any--of our bases being closed.

Shortly after upping, the 352nd Fighter was bounced near their objective by the 475th; the fighting was furious and on the deck with losses on both sides. The remaining 352nd rearmed and reupped, destroying ground targets in the area.

The medium bombers of the Knights met up with the escorting fighters of Luftflotte 6 and headed toward their objective. Shortly before reaching the targets, the medium bombers were intercepted by enemy fighters and had to drop on the target while under attack. The escorting Lf 6 fighters fought feverishly, working at driving the enemy away from the bombers. The 4th Fighter, which was patrolling in the South, was directed toward the action in the North, where they engaged the enemy.

Bomber losses to fighters and flak were heavy over the targets, but both fields 124 and 125 were closed. Meanwhile, the 352nd and Lf 6 continued to hit targets at field 88.

Silently, like a gathering of sea phantoms, the strikers from the Night Stalkers worked in the South along the water, closing 170 and 185. After this, they continued attacking shipping in the area without so much as a peep.

The enemy medium bombers entered our airspace in the North and proceeded to work on targets at 86 and 87. Elements of the 4th Fighter, 352nd Fighter, and Lf 6 intercepted and harassed the enemy even though outnumbered. It wasn't until a second attack was mounted that the enemy was able to close Field 86, but by this time the Knights had taken out the radar at 121 and went on to close 120.

After a furious battle, there were heavy air losses on both sides but we continued our relentless ground assault, closing 5 bases and only allowing the enemy to close 1.

Boys, you rewrote history!

Dewolf always has ideas, I always listen to them when I am CO, taking the ones I like and the ones that make sense, even if I don't like them. ;)
