Salute!

This is getting old.

I tried and tried online in S3 with really touchy roll and rudder for takeoff. Needed severe yaw and lottsa aileron. So kept keeping on and went offline. Same problems.

I then logged out of the sim and came back in completely offline and used same control input settings and used "realistic" settings and such.

No problem, and the plane flew like it used to. I even checked the VFC file and such to see they were the same as two years ago.

My conclusion is there is something in the S3 settings that is getting into the models, and I suspect some is the stupid drones, but maybe more. I know already that the FM dudes we like for their effort will claim "no problem", but I have flown these things for almost 20 years and only this fall have I seen the problem.

I shall try to capture my problem on file, but will reload the entire WB program and such in the meantime to see if there is a wierd glitch. I might try flying a lite with no drones to see if that is a player, but I need to have my life reset in the S3 arena.

That is because Warbirds utilizes different FMs for different arenas including offline now. S3, the old AFM "Operation Lost" all use the same FL file. Offline is a different one and has to be set with .fldat <fl number>. If you scroll up when you log into the S3 it will display which fl file its using.

Previously the Main Arena did not have FM updates and offline mirrored this. But now the Main Arena is getting FM update so even the MA may be different than offline as well.

Logging into the S3 and then into offline kept the S3 data file, where logging out completely reset offline to its default file that does not have torque changes.

Before this year WB used the same FL file everywhere.

TNX, Zin.

I found out two things today when putting on my 305th BG Chuck Yeager flight test hat.

- my HE-111 FM has an aileron-rudder-interconnect. WTF?????? Go try it. Maybe try a lite. So I put in aileron and the rudder moves. That makes a "slip" to lose altitude very hard. It is also not realistic of the WW2 birds.

- The aileron trim puts in opposite control surface position or stick deflection, so seems the programmers thot that would result in not having to hold stick pressure/deflection for roll. NOT!!!! The aileron rudder interconnect defeats that. So I crank in +0.10 of aileron trim and the yoke moves to - 0.10. I thot trim was supposed to reduce the need to hold the yoke/stick, reduce pressure or whatever.

Pitch trim works like real planes seems to me.

Yaw trim and roll trim are not like real planes. With neutral trim and stick I can crank in roll trim using kybd "L" or "J" and the sucker rolls the opposite direction. Duhhh?

PLZ have some folks check this out in case my old, feeble mind has completely lost it.

Gums continues to whine,,,,,,

Lots of questions out there and only a few can answer them.

I will start a sticky on the main page for FM questions.

There is no interconnect between rudder and aileron on the He-111. This is probably a user hardware issue.

Dawger,

This means that 99% are having hardware problems. I can't except that because it never did this before the updates.

In the previous series, Swede couldn't take off in a Mossie, too much torque. He was using a twisty stick. He had to go and change his computer settings before he was able to get it to work.
