Post subject:  Frame 1 AAR

Started off as planned, Fighter Groups on Sicily and Knights on Pantelleria. Things seemed to be playing our way until a single green fighter group appeared on the scope reacting to our fighters appearing on theirs. I think they were the only ones in Tunisia at the time though because they realized it was 2 full fighter groups bearing down on them and they booked it south. Perhaps out of luck, perhaps they saw something, they were headed straight for the Knights ingress route. Regardless of why they changed course for the Knights, they were becoming more and more of a danger to the strike mission so I ordered an abort to go sink ships which were nearby.

Unfortunately the Knights lost a few, as did many later, attacking the ships which hampered any chances on a later attack on 199. Fortunately they were able to mount an attack on 154 which proved quite fruitful as our field was bigger than their field in the points column. I tip my hat to you Knights and Jman/Madcat for remaining flexible and doing whatever possible to inflict harm on the enemy. <S>

We lost contact with Jabo mid frame to confirm if we could essentially base everyone out of Pantelleria. The rules even in series where rebasing was an option, we could still not overstep fields and even though refueling/rearming were options, groups always had to return to home base. At least as long as I have been a part of the S3. We ran with his last communique that we could refuel/rearm anywhere and set up shop. Jabo didn't object on his return so things were assumed to be kosher. The Fighters played a HUGE part in the points spread as well beating back every allied attempt to overtake Pantelleria. <S> 352 and LF6

Still waiting on final tally but we were sitting on a good margin of victory (44-31.5). The ships proved to be a points boon, however they came at a high cost. Might need to reevaluate their priority in later frames.
