Hey guys how many are you thinking you will have for the frame? We need to decide if we want everyone in Kates or can we split up a bit and fly Zeros as well. It would be nice to have a few fighters if we can afford it. I also want to make sure we have enough to help out with 5 if needed.

I believe we should have no less that 6 and as many as 12. I will check for attendance and see what I can get ;)

So far, I have confirmed for Deak, Nsr, and myself. I am sure we will also have Muzz, Wcat (maybe Rc and Jaxxon) from 417 and Swede, Yukon, Bckroo and his dad, Barvic from 416. So it looks like 9 would be our number. Deak, Swede, Nsr and I flew Betties in Frame 1, most of these would prefer the Zero in Frame 3, but all will do Betties again if needed.

We need some guys in Zero's to provide fighter cover, since I don't think we will be assigned any.

Cover is really not an issue on the first run since we have a free shot at them. We have to to make sure we have enough Kates to close F2 on one pass. I will be posting targeting pics later today.

We will have cover but it wont be necessary as Dew said. We drop and head west and the AL wont be able to catch us.

Sortie 2, we will have everyone together, fighters and buffs on the same run.

Remember in Frame 3 anything you close will stay closed for Frame 4.
Another thing that would be helpful is to have a few zeros CAP the available fields before the first bomb drops. If the allies see some dots over their fields they will be very wary of scrambling allowing a better chance of escape by the slow betties. They may even resort to taking off from their CVs instead if you spook them.

My question to you all and remember, we have to the 19th to get ready. If I assign the 352nd to strike the DAR, will this leave the Kates with no escorts. I know this will sound like i am leaving my guys out to dry, but maybe hitting all those dars is a good so Frame 4 has a better chance of success.

Of course we still have that hairless donkey to deal with..

We have 5 confirmed for Sunday, but I am sure more will be out.

Looking at the map of F2, there are only 7 hard targets "buildings, fuel tanks, ammos". Then the soft targets are 4 fighters and a DC-3.

I noticed a circle above G, is that a target (I assumed a building in the above).

7 Betties should be sufficient for 11 targets, or they could double drop on the 7 hard and fighters (heavy) could come in and finish off the fighters and DC-3. bombing first, the straffing if needed.

We could have the Betties hold 1 bomb each and head to F5 if the UMM don't finish it.

Your call on drop and how many at each target. RCAF has not flown too many bombing missions, but we have experience as strike aircraft.
