~S~ MuskieZZ for planning a great frame.
We got up from CV 5 (well most of us did
at T+9 and headed towards the rendezvous point. We got terribly delayed due to our own follies (we will strive to do better next time) to reach the first way point. Communications with our escort group was great! ~S~ LF6 - they acknowledged the delay and circled to receive us. Once formed up we proceeded to the target and were attacked by several P40s but the brave LF6 did a wonderful job of keeping them clear of us. We left all but 2 fuel and 1 parked aircraft standing. We were a bomber short and hence needed several passes over the field. Again a huge thanks to the LF6 for accommodating us and not complaining about the time we took.
On the return they fought off several enemy aircraft keeping us clear and made sure the last of us made it back to the CVs. Thanks to the LF6 we had ZERO losses.
The second sortie our primary mission was to finish F2 and perhaps another target. We had the one remaining bomber from the KoN and four KoN fighters to accompany us close + the remaining fighters also saw us to target.
We managed to close F2, having several bombs left proceeded towards 3 when we were jumped by the enemy and suffered several losses. As much as the fighters tried there were too many of them.
Yet we had one bomber (gundoc who got several important targets) fly out of there with swanee and skinez protecting him. Unfortunately they fell to enemy attacks almost half way back to the CV.
That left gundoc to find his way back to the CV. Real life called and I had to log before he landed. I hope he did so successfully!
Big thanks to all the fighters who supported us, MuskieZZ for the excellent planning and the Janitors for making all of this happen.
