This will be pretty basic, as only 12 aircraft can fly until we spot the Yanks.

457th will have the honours as the scouts and they will be based out of F20.
Haze/AE will also be based at F20.

F13 will hold LF6 and Sentai 127

Initially, once contact is made, I would like Haze/AE to cover the approaches from the Ease/SouthEast and Sentai 127 to cover the approaches from the East/NorthEast

According to the rules, we can base any numbers of aircraft at a field and we can refuel/rearm at any of our fields. Any fields closed this frame will also be closed next frame.

Any suggestions are welcome.

We will scout away.

Any interest in a bullseye map?

I worked a couple up last night but i need to test the colors with "gray" radar to see which color works best before I post them up.

475FG will be using a Bullseye internally in any case.

I don't see the word patrol anywhere except in your post ;)

Sorry..was in the rules:

9. IJN Scramble - the IJN may only launch 12 a/c to patrol the Truk area at T+0.

The rest of point 9:

9. IJN Scramble - the IJN may only launch 12 a/c to patrol the Truk area at T+0. The remaining IJN a/c must wait at their airfields or CVs until either a visual ID for USN aircraft is reported or cons spotted on Japanese radar and confirmed by the CM. IJN fields will identify all aircraft(NOE or not) within a visual range of 15 miles. All remaining aircraft may then roll.

Need to decide if rest of fighter defense is island or cv based.
I'd vote island, and determine who is based where for your fighter area coverage.

Key is your scouts finding inbound enemy early so all fighters have a chance to get up and into position.

475 needs to spread out to look for approaching NME aircraft. Once spotted, everyone else can launch. I would expect 475 to regroup, keeping tabs on the NME if possible. :)

All aircraft are Island based, the CV just means you need to fly farther ot NME aircraft

So piss away 1/3 of our combat strength to gain a few minutes of scramble?
