S3 Series

The Group was tasked with meeting buffs over their target area of large field F-4. As we were based in the South, all possible haste was made and we arrived at the scheduled time to find that enemy elements had found the lead elements of the buff group. That group of enemy fighters was engaged and most of their cohorts elected to egress to an area far enough east of F-4 for the buff guys to do their thing. As the Group continued to engage anything that seemed to be moving toward the target area it was noted that the target field had been closed. Nice job strike guys! Targets of opportunity seemed to present themselves for the entire Frame. We had flights that engaged nearly every type of aircraft in the known enemy inventory and even a "creative" one that we had to get on the visual to know what it was. Other flights engaged tank units, while still another was "passing by" active Port 52 and elected to close it while RTB. Many of our elements destroyed a number of ground targets. All in all it was a fun night in the Arena for most of our pilots.
